A WARM WELCOME TO HIRSCHHORN
WHY “BY DEBO 800”?
The name “By DEBO 800°” consists of two major components – “Debo” acts as
a reflection of the memories on the family who ran the restaurant back in the 70s. At
this time the place was a service area along the motorway B37 between Heidelberg and
Mosbach, highly favored among truckers from near and far. The Debo family ran the
service area with tireless passion around-the-clock. Even at 3 am at night, tired and
hungry truckers were allowed to ring the bell and get a warm meal.
The second part of the restaurant’s name 800° relates to the temperature of the
oven, used for preparing the burgers and steaks. The oven from the brand “Southbend”,
which was specifically developed in the US and imported to Germany, is unique in the
metropolitan area “Rhein-Neckar”. It develops a heat of 800° degrees Celsius within a
short time, which immediately tightens the meat fibers and develops a very delicious,
almost caramelized crust. The meat underneath the crust remains tender and juicy.
Served with melted butter, sea salt and pepper, steak enthusiasts will come to enjoy a
taste of meat, which can only be found in some larger cities in Germany.
