FAMILY LEARNING PROGRAM
Start your week in a most productive and enjoyable way. All parents,
grandparents are invited to learn and study with their children and grandchildren.
Please join us this Sunday morning at 9:45am in the upstairs Beit Medrash.
Young men from Rabbi Katzman’s yeshivah will join us to answer questions or
to be your chavruta, study partner. Refreshments will be served. Please contact

DAVENING AND SHIURIM
Rabbi Lehrfield is giving a Gemara Shiur every other Sunday at 9:45 AM or after the 9
o’clock minyan in the gym. The Luach will indicate which week the class will be given. We
are looking for $72 sponsors for these classes.
There is a Mishna Brurah learning group every night at 9:15pm for 15 minutes prior to

A Course on “Tefillah”, based on the teachings of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, will be
given by Norman Linzer on alternate Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM in the main shul. It
will alternate with Tuesday class given by Rabbi Lehrfield. Women and men are welcome
YISI LITTLE LEAGUE
Young Israel of Staten Island Little League registration for boys 1st- 8th grade is from

YISI DAY CAMP NEWS
YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTS
Though there may still be a few feet of snow on the ground, plans for YISI Day Camp 2015
are well underway. Brochures and applications are on the way to your mailbox, but you
can check out the camp website http://www.yisi.org/day_camp.php for a sneak peek!
We're looking forward to another fantastic summer with you!
There will be regular morning and afternoon groups this week.
The YISI Day Camp will be conducting staff interviews (including CITs, going into 10th
grade) and specialty staff on Motzei Shabbos, February 14th between 8:30 PM and 10:00
PM in the Teen Lounge. Applications are available on the shul website. If your child is in
Israel this year and is interested in working for the day camp this summer, a parent should
come down that night to fill out an application on his/her behalf. Contact Josh and Stefanie

COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS
We are pleased to welcome Erin & David Stiebel, Miriam Borenstein, the staff
and participants of the NCSY GIVE (Girls Israel Volunteer Experience) 2014
summer program to our community for Shabbos. Thank you to all those who
opened their homes to our guests.
FIRE SAFETY CLASS
Join us at the JCC on February 3rd at 7 PM and learn how your family can be

YESHIVAS ZICHRON PALTIEL CHOFETZ CHAIM MELAVE MALKA
Please join the yeshivah as they honor Fran & Joe Harris- one of the original
founders of this community and Cheryl & Irwin Keller who have dedicated 32

DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS
The first lecture class meeting for the Spring Driver Education course will take

Yeled V’Yalda’s Insurance Navigator is ready to assist you with enrolling in
Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act/ Obamacare and Child Health Plus. ALL

closes on February 15, 2015. Enrollment for Medicaid and Child Health Plus is
year long.

TAKE NOTICE
All teachers- please pay attention to your students and take note whether they
are in need of any clothing, a warm winter coat or snacks for school. All the
clothes are distributed very discretely and privately without anyone’s knowledge

YOUNG MARRIEDS EVENTS
The next Young Marrieds’ Minyan will be this Shabbos, January 31st,
Parshas Beshalach at 9:30 in the teen lounge. Following davening, there will be
a hot Kiddush.
This week's Young Marrieds’ Men's Chaburah will be with Rav Polakoff who will
be giving Part 2 of a special Shovavim shiur on Taharas
Hamishpacha on Wednesday, February 4th. The Chaburah will take place at the
home of Rebecca & Effie Silberman (1038 Willowbrook Rd) at 8:30.
TEHILLIM CIRCLE

We are looking for sponsors for our weekly Shalosh Seudot. Your sponsorship allows
close to 60 of our youth to have a meaningful Shalosh Seudot experience every Shabbos
afternoon, complete with great nosh, Divrei Torah and singing. Please see Wayne

a loved one.

Bikur Cholim is looking for volunteers to visit Jewish residents in Staten Island nursing
