FLACARS Repo Expo and Florida Tow Show Welcomes Florida Auto Theft Intelligence Unit (FATIU) & Central Florida Auto Theft Intelligence Unit (CFATIU) Overview: FATIU provides its members with an enormous wealth of experience, training and resources in areas such as technical developments, trends, intelligence and investigative assistance. FATIU is also a strong force in the legislative world. Their goal is to push those bills that support the effort to stop theft in Florida. We invite all auto theft investigators, inspectors, agents, or crime analysts from any local, county, state or federal enforcement agencies and any investigators or inspectors from DHSMV, insurance companies, finance companies, or rental car companies to attend. Repossession and towing enforcement training will be held in the morning and will be followed by an afternoon presentation, sponsored by Dynamic, on investigative research and intelligence gathering through online resources presented by the experienced and highly sought-after instructor Michele Stuart. Michele Stuart is a licensed Private Investigator in the State of Arizona with twenty years of experience specializing in the areas of Financial, Open Source Investigations (OSINT), Corporate Investigations, and Intelligence/Counter Intelligence. She started her investigative career as an Economic Fraud Investigator. Les Cravens with Auto Data Directs career includes service in the U.S. Army Military Police for three years and over 30 years with the Miami-Dade Police Department. During his tenure with Miami-Dade PD he specialized in auto theft prevention including vehicle title and registration fraud, salvage vehicle enforcement and salvage title fraud, export of stolen vehicles, cargo theft, VIN alteration, and odometer fraud. In addition to his investigative duties, Cravens developed instructional programs for law enforcement and industry members aimed at prevention and compliance with federal, state, and local laws pertaining to auto theft and related crime. Michael Howk, JD is the Risk Manager and Director of Education for RSIG. Mike has spent nearly 25 years in the repossession business and is a recognized national expert in repossession law. Mike served four years in military intelligence before graduating from the University of New York at Binghamton School of Management with a B.S. in 1977. In 1980 he graduated from Nova University in Florida with a Juris Doctorate. He has been a member of the Florida State Bar since 1980.
