Lewisham Council has developed this directory to promote local service providers and support residents to progress into training and employment. This website is widely used and now you have the opportunity to make sure your organisation is listed on there too! We invite you to take look at the Employment & Training Directory. If your organisation is already listed, please check all the details are correct and up to date. You can edit the details whenever they need updating. And if your organisation isn't on the directory yet, you can add it yourself too. It’s very easy to add your organisation or change details. You will be asked to log in but this is very quick and simple to do. Lewisham Service Providers Forum is an initiative led by Lewisham Council Looking for an Apprenticeship in Construction – places still available! With the help of Lewisham Council and Phoenix Housing Association Award winning Building Lives has set up a brand new training academy in Lewisham. Our Level 1 is the perfect way to start your journey into the world of construction. Designed to give you the fullest insight, this accredited two day a week course will give you the basic construction skills that are relevant to the construction industry of today. As part of this course, you will also receive full training free of charge on your CSCS card and Health and Safety, ensuring you are ready to start work on site. On completion of your level 1 you will be placed with one of our construction partners for three weeks to put your new skills and knowledge into practice and get a real taste for working on a construction site. Once you have completed your level 1, have your CSCS card and have completed your work experience you are ready to start our award winning paid apprenticeship scheme. CEL appointed staff to help you, find volunteering work placements. Work experience to build your CV and get job reference from employer. Help and guidance from CEL appointed staff after course finishes. STEP UP Young Touring Company recruiting now Lewisham Youth Theatre are now recruiting young people for the STEP UP Young Touring Company. If you work with young people who live or learn in Lewisham, are aged 16-24, not in full-time education or employment and interested in theatre, please consider referring them for this exciting opportunity. There are places available for both actors and backstage/production assistants, so this is a superb chance for any young person interested in developing skills in a variety of positions in theatre to gain valuable experience and confidence. Young people who take part in this programme will be able to gain AQA Unit Award Scheme accreditations. In addition, although the position is voluntary, we will provide expenses during rehearsals and an apprentice fee for performance days. Lewisham Southwark College have a range of courses available across all sites including AAT, Multitrade Construction, Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Esol and many more. Courses are open to benefit recipients (JSA, ESA or Income Support) aged 19+ and referrals must be made via telephone call from a referral provider. Course Opportunities at Eco Learning The course will commence on the 2nd February 2015. With the exception of the induction day, all course dates will run from 10am – 4pm. The venue will be Lewisham Way Campus, SE4 1UT. At the end of the course students will receive Level 1 BTEC in preparing to work in Adult Care. Upon completion of the course students will be expected to register to the Lewisham Person 2 Person Marketplace and provide care and support services. Eco Learning offers a range of great quality training courses at affordable prices to help you develop your skills or keep your skills up to date and relevant for the workplace. The courses on offer include accredited and non accredited training in IT, First Aid, Food Safety, Heath and Safety and loads more.
