See Mt Daisetsu, a group of 8 stratovolcanoes lava domes, and a small 2 km wide caldera in the Daisetzu –San National Park. Continue to Sounkyo Gorge, situated at the foot of Mt DaisetsuZan, which is called the “ roof of Hokkaido “. The giant gorge, bordered by 100 meter high cliffs formed by the erosion of tuff, stretches for 24 kms and forms the center of Daisetsu National Park. Afterwards, enjoy slurping delicious ramen at Sapporo Ramen Republic. (hotel : Choyotei Hotel or similar ) DAY 4 SOUNKYO –TOKACHIGAWA (B/L/Kaiseki Dinner) This morning, continue your visit to Asahiyama Zoo, a very popular zoological garden which allows visitors to observe the animals from various angles. It includes a glass tunnel through the penguin pool that allows visitors to observe the bird’s underwater flight and small glass domes in the middle of the polar bear and wolf enclosures that can get visitors among the animals. Next, visit Otokoyama Sake Brewery, most famous sake both within Japan and Worldwide. See Sake making process as well as sake tasting and gift shop. Photo stop at Mt Showa, is one of Japan most youngest mountain created between 1844 and 1945. Afterwards, step into Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura, a theme park lined with Edo era buildings. Relive the history of samurai, townspeople and occasional courtesans. Next, take a walk through the sulphurous valley to see boiling ponds and steaming streams at the famous Jigokudani Valley. Next, enjoy a shopping spree at a brand new mall, Mitsui Mall, carrying domestic and imported brands for all ages. Move on to Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade, the longest shopping street in Hokkaido.
