TMEA Convention Itinerary Wednesday, 2/11 – Saturday, 2/14 *Make sure that you have your All-State forms completed and notarized as required by TMEA. You will not be able to register and audition without these completed forms. Wednesday, February 11th 8:15am You are excused from all classes Wednesday, February 11th – Friday, February 13th. Arrive at Summit Band Hall with your luggage, formal concert attire, instrument, audition music, folding wire music stand, completed TMEA forms, and your photo ID. I will print your boarding pass and give it to you when we arrive at DFW. 8:30am Board MISD provided transportation for DFW airport 9:00am Arrive at DFW and check-in *You are responsible for any checked bag fees. Please plan ahead for this expense. *Eat breakfast at home or at the airport 10:30am Be at the gate before boarding begins 11:00am American Airlines Flight 2456 departs DFW International Airport for San Antonio 12:07pm Arrive in San Antonio, get luggage 12:30pm Take shuttle to the hotel – bring $10.00 for the shuttle fee 1:00pm Check into hotel rooms/drop off luggage 1:30pm Meet in the hotel lobby for lunch 2:00pm Visit San Antonio’s River Walk and eat lunch together as a group 3:00pm Register for the convention at the Convention Center - have all forms completed and ready to turn in 3:30pm Return to hotel rooms, relax, warm-up, practice 4:15pm Meet in the hotel lobby and go to the student meeting before auditions. 4:45pm All-State student meeting @ Convention Center Lila Cockrell Theater 5:30pm Check-in at your audition room 5:45pm Auditions begin (Call Mr. Bonebrake, 817-781-2049 when audition results are posted) 10:30pm Room check 11:30pm Lights out Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. You are each responsible for getting up and making it to your rehearsals early each day. You are each to be in your hotel room at 10:30pm each evening for room check. Lights out is at 11:30pm each evening. You are each responsible for your own meal arrangements each day. Each of you will be provided with $98.00 from the district to help with meal costs. Spend every dime. I don’t need receipts and do not want any extra money back. We will meet as a group for dinner on Thursday night immediately following your afternoon rehearsal. Our reservations are set for 5:00pm at the Fogo de Chao restaurant located right next to the Marriot Rivercenter Hotel and Rivercenter Mall. We’ll be finished with plenty of time for you to be on time to your evening rehearsal. This meal is on me. After your concert performance on Saturday afternoon/evening, I will need to see you and your parents together before you check out of your hotel and leave. Students must wear the All-State badge whenever leaving the hotel room. Students may not practice or play instruments in the hotel after 6:00pm. Students must be on time for every rehearsal and performance. Students may not leave the hotel after 10:30pm. Students may not visit a member of the opposite sex’s room unless the chaperone is present. Students may not have alcoholic beverages or controlled substances, drugs, or illegal materials in his/her possession. Students must represent his/her school and family through appropriate behavior and attire.
