FEBRUARY 8, 2015 Welcome Visitors and Friends! Thank you for joining Us! Welcome Msgr. David Baumgartner! This weekend we welcome and thank Msgr. David Baumgartner for celebrating our mass with us. Your ministry and presence are deeply appreciated and may you always be blessed for you dedication to our Church. Liturgy of the Hours: Week I of the Psalter In the gospel Simon says to Jesus, “everyone is looking for you.” Jesus is having great success healing many people and driving out demons. All who encounter him adore him. People are paying great attention to him-”The whole town was gathered” at the door of Simon and Andrew’s house. Nonetheless, Jesus moves on to other villages. His ministry is not about drawing attention to himself, but about preaching the Good News of salvation. Yet his ministry is about himself, for he is the Good News. Jesus gives His time to do all that God wishes - healing the sick and preaching. Yet, Jesus also makes time to be alone in prayer. It is through prayer, spending time with God, that we find the strength to do what God wishes us to do. Be sure to find time every day to be with God. Video presentations on certain 20th century martyrs will be shown on the upcoming 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month immediately after Sunday Mass. Our first session, which is 60 minutes in length, will be held on February 8th, and we will hear the powerful story of the four nuns killed in El Salvador in 1980. Grab your cup of coffee after Mass, and join us as we learn from those who gave their lives as they served others." I wish to thank any & all who have included my brother, Rolland Porter, in their prayers over these last months. I just received word this morning, 2-4-14, that he has died.
