The conference theme
The 2015 Graduate Research Conference will be hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong
University, China. The theme is “Digital Future” and the conference will discuss

the evolution of digital technology
the influence of digital technology on society and user behavior
the opportunities and challenges digital technology brings
predict the future developments in terms of technical, social, legal,
economic, cultural, and political aspects of the Internet and digital
technology as a result of digital advancement.
Three days of presentations and other actives, which provide delegates with an
optimal environment for U21 Doctoral Candidates in this field to showcase their
research findings, strategically network and socialize.
Conditions
Lund University will nominate two doctoral candidates, and one reserve. Lund
University will cover the conference fee of US $600 per participant. This fee
covers accommodation, airport pick-ups, welcome dinner, lunches, refreshments,
meeting theatres, and social and cultural activities. It does not include airfare and
health insurance. In addition, Lund University will assist with travel arrangements
and cover travel costs including visa costs to a maximum of 10 000 SEK.
N.B. Each participant will need to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance.
Applicants shall meet the following requirements:
• Must be registered as a doctoral candidate at Lund University
• Should be approximately half way in their PhD projects
• Must be keenly motivated to work on the topics of the U21 Graduate
Research Conference
• Must be able to participate in all activities in the programme
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English - the sessions will all be
conducted in English

Doctoral candidates from all disciplines with an academic research interest in the
conference theme Digital Future are invited to apply, describing the contribution
they can make to the conference. Students may present posters or do oral
presentations on any of the themes.
Selection Criteria

Statement of purpose
•
Relevance to the conference theme
•
Quality of the abstract
•
The potential impact of the research
Preconference procedure information (selected candidates only)
One oral and one poster presentation are desirable. The selected candidates are
expected to provide additional documentation.
The application, in English, shall include:
1. Statement of purpose including a description of the contribution they can make
to the conference, including choice of theme - 1 A4 page
2. Letter of recommendation from Professor/Head of Department
3. CV
4. Excerpt from LADOK
