Champagne Vin d’Honneur to welcome guest before the concert. The concert will feature a Puerto Rico born pianist Jose Ramos Santana, is one of the most outstanding pianist of his generation. He has been a soloist with major orchestras such as New York Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic of London, Moscow State Orchestra and the orchestras of Saint Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, San Antonio, Oakland, Utah, American Composer Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and Casals Festival Orchestra among others. A prize winner in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition his recital and Festival appearances have taken him throughout USA, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland Japan and China, Central America and South America. He has recorded for the Fleur de Son and Naxos labels. Mr Ramos Santana have served as a juror in the William Kapell International Piano Competition, Louisianna International Piano Competition, Koszciousko Chopin International Competition and the Liszt Garrison International Piano Competition. Currently he is a member of the Piano Faculty at the Benjamin T Rome School of Music at Catholic University and a artist- faculty member of the IKIF Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City. A graduate from the Juilliard School, he studied with Adele Marcus, Sylvia Rabinof and William Masselos. He has also worked with Leon Fleisher and Alicia de Larrocha. “A Prelude to Spring Concert” jumpstarts the 2014 WIPAC Season, all proceeds benefit the unique and exciting piano concert the “Winners Grand Prix Concert” in April and the 2014 Festival of Music and the 11th WIPAC International Piano Competition.
