In our December issue we showed a picture of the Sea Life Centre being rebuilt in 1928/9; in the forefront were three statues representing seasons, presumably being salvaged to be erected in another space. We BOUTI wondered two things: where was the fourth, and where did the statues end up? Two readers, Elizabeth Garrett UE and Tony Norman, have contacted us to half-answer the first question (or two-thirds answer it, to be more accurate). Two of the statues, it seems, ended up in the Rose Garden near the Rotunda café in Preston Park. Recently, offers Tony, the statues were painted a ‘somewhat surprising’ gold and black. Anyone know the whereabouts of the other two?
