We pay homage to the Three Precious Ones with reverence and actively devote to the propagation of Buddhism. We uphold the principle of living Buddhism and wish happiness and wellbeing for all. We practice the Buddhist teachings in everyday life and always maintain devoutness and solemnity in heart. We cultivate compassion, wisdom and diligence for the benefit of both ourselves and others. We respect our members, all beings and greet them properly in every occasion. We develop the wisdom that is within ourselves through “right understanding” and “right views”. We experience the joy of Dharma though the eradication of ignorance and defilements. We commit ourselves to the liberation of all beings from suffering and the creation of Pure Land on Earth. BLIAYAD/MAN/AGM2014/5 Page 3 BLIA YAD MANCHESTER GENERAL MEETING 2014 Where is the future? “Master, could you help me find a job?” Most employers would certainly take my recommendation based on our relationship and trust. I suggested looking in classified news for job ads, offering different posts in different fields and answer to those vacancies. During the interview, you should promote your strengths. Let the employer know what you learnt at school and capable of doing for the company. Youngsters should be able to apply knowledge into skills. Have they done any contribution to the society or the country? The most important thing is to have confidence and believe in yourself. We believe in Buddha, but the Buddha doesn’t need us to believe him and does not affect him, whether believe him or not. If you studied finance, you should make the banks need you. If you studied law, you should make the legal firms need you. No matter what field, somebody is need in that field. Make them know you have the ability to help them. Have faith in yourself and believe you can apply your studies to your professional career. You should have responsibilities; have strong willingness; be courteous; have courage to bear the consequences; be diligent and spread happiness to others. Youngsters should zealously serve people “What can I do for my family/parents?”; “What have I done so far to contribute to my family? People? Society? Country?” If you think for others this way and be needed by people, you will have a future!
