Nursery comment slips
In the entrance leading to our baby unit, outside the 2-3’s unit and outside pre-school there are
parent comment boxes, please feel free to use the slips provided and post them to us. We really
do appreciate your comments. The comment slips help the nursery develop and meet parent’s
wishes as a child care provider.
Nursery fees
Please can we ask that all nursery fees are paid on time and inform us of any changes to
payment methods as soon as possible.
Please also note that a late collection charge will be added to your nursery fees, if the collection
of children is reoccurring as notified previously letters sent home. If you are running late please
let the Sunnyside team know.
Training updates
All the team at Sunnyside are committed to their roles as professional nursery nurses and attend
2
training courses as part of their ongoing commitment to the children attending Sunnyside, with
that taken into consideration few of the practitioners will be attending First Aid training to update
their current qualifications and also allergy Awareness and in house training will continue to
ensure practitioners at Sunnyside have the most up-to-date knowledge.
Nursery policies
If any parents wish to view our nursery polices, please feel free to take a copy of them from the
entrance hall near the library or call into the office at any time. Please take a look at information
regarding Flu Vaccinations available via the nhs.
Please can we ask at this time that the sickness policy is followed strictly, lately there has been a
lot of nasty viral illnesses/infections doing the rounds and as much as we fully understand
parents work commitments, we are fully committed to providing an environment which does not
promote potential infections to children when this could possibly be avoided.
With this in mind please can we ask that all illnesses are reported as soon as possible to a
member of the nursery team, we also need to be informed by parents if their child has been
prescribed antibiotics even if the dosage is not needed during the child’s time at nursery.
As always we will notify you of any suspected illnesses if symptoms occur while we care for your
children and will expected you to understand the nursery policy, which is put in place regarding
collection of children if this is thought necessary.
Finally........
We are due our Ofsted inspection! On the day of the inspection parents will be notified by means
of a poster on the doors of the nursery, stating that an inspection is taking place. If you would like
to speak to the inspector on the day of the visit, please feel free to do so. All members of staff
will introduce you to the inspector should they be in your child room when you are dropping off or
collecting.
