Additional Educational Grant Support Opportunities

ARS Presidential Categorical Course - $5,000
The Presidential Course will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The course will be taught by
ARS President, Kenneth Rosenzweig, MD of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr.
Rosenzweig will present this Multidisciplinary President’s Course on Lung Cancer along with
speakers of his choosing.
Your company will be acknowledged for its support in the Final Program, signage and on the
room slide before the panel begins.

Essay Awards - $15,000
Be the exclusive supporter of the six prestigious Young Oncologist Essay Awards. The Essay
Awards are given to six trainees who submit a completed manuscript dealing with subjects
related to clinical, translational, or basic research. Recognition will be noted on the award
plaque, on the ARS website and at the meeting.

Travel Grant Awards - $10,000
Be recognized as the exclusive supporter of the Young Oncologist Travel Grant Awards. A
total of 10 awards are given out for outstanding abstracts that are reviewed favorably for
presentation at the Annual Meeting. Each of the 10 selected will receive an award plaque with
your company’s name displayed. Additional recognition will be made on the ARS website and
at the meeting.

Poster Tour Session - $2,000
Posters focus on a variety of multidisciplinary topics in cancer research and treatment. Your

Keynote Session - $3,000 each
We are pleased to have recruited a spectacular group of lecturers including Keynote Speakers
Professor Takashi Nakano, MD, PhD, Gunma University, Heavy Ion Medical Center
and Professor Deborah Watkins Bruner, RN, PhD, FAAN, Winship Cancer Institute, Emory
University. The Keynote sessions consist of a one-hour presentation. Professor Nakano will
speak on May 4 and Professor Bruner on May 5.


Panel or Debate - $3,000 each
Panel and debate sessions focus on a variety of multidisciplinary topics in cancer research and
treatment. Each panel/debate will be an open forum or a structured session of 3-4 subtopics
that are presented by individual panelists. Your company will be acknowledged for its support
in the final program, signage and on the room slide before the panel or debate begins.

Janeway Lecture - $5,000
Since 1933, the American Radium Society has sponsored an annual lecture in memory of Dr.
Henry H. Janeway (1873-1921), a great American pioneer in the therapeutic use of radium.
The 2015 Janeway Lecture will be presented on May 2 by Professor Jay Harris, MD, DanaFarber Cancer Institute.
Your company will be acknowledged for its support in the Final Program, signage and on the
room slide before the lecture begins.

Scientific Session - $2,000 each
Proffered paper sessions provide attendees with the best scientific findings related to cancer
treatment from a multidisciplinary perspective. These sessions highlight over 50 oral paper
presentations for the ARS 97th Annual Meeting. Your company will be acknowledged for its
support in the Final Program, signage and on the room slide before the paper session begins.
Proffered papers sessions will be determined upon completion of the abstract review process
in January 2015. Submission topics include biology, breast cancer, CNS tumor &
functional disorder, gastrointestinal cancer, genitourinary cancer, gynecological
cancer, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, metastasis, pediatric cancer,
physics/imaging, and toxicity/quality of life/outcomes.

following the meeting general session.

Monday: CNS and Pediatrics presented by Howard M. Sandler, MD, MS, FASTRO, CedarsSinai; Mark Buyyonouski, MD, Stanford Medicine; Sue Yom, MD, PhD, University of

SUPPORT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

A limited number of companies will have the opportunity to present an educational event of
their choosing which may include, for example, a panel discussion or an invited speaker.
Rooms for these events will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Symposia
support will be acknowledged in the Final Program and may be listed on the ARS website in
the meeting agenda. On-site signage will be provided. To secure a time slot, please
complete the Satellite Symposia Application and return it before January 9, 2015.

Official Hotel Door Drop - $6,000 (plus production)

Industry-Supported Satellite Symposia Guidelines:
“Satellite Symposium”: Refers to any activity that is deemed educational in nature and is independently
organized and offered by another organization. This includes, but is not limited to, any educational activity that
carries continuing medical education credits not sponsored by ARS’ CME accrediting body.
Application Submission Process and Deadlines:
Please submit the official ARS Satellite Symposia Application and a copy of the program. The program should
include the title of the program and presentations, learning objectives, needs assessment, target audience and
method of invitation. Please note that time and space are limited. Application Deadline: January 9, 2015.
Criteria for Eligibility:
Acceptance of the proposed satellite symposium will be based on educational content. The satellite symposium
must meet the following criteria:
1. Provide high-quality information that practicing physicians and surgeons need to provide improved patient
care
2. Offer balanced information and provide an objective viewpoint of the subject matter presented
The Organization must:
1. Fulfill any funding obligations
2. Hold ARS harmless from any and all claims that may result from the meeting.
ARS reserves the right to:
1. Limit the number of industry organized events
2. Consult with the organization to assure appropriateness of any activity outcome.

Symposia Rooms will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, upon approval by ARS.
Marketing:
ARS encourages independent promotion of approved symposia. All marketing materials must be approved
through ARS prior to release and distribution. Commercial displays will not be allowed in the meeting room at
anytime. Signage at the hotel will be allowed only on the day of the symposium. Signs are limited to two in front
of the session room, two hours in advance of the symposium.
ARS will promote the program in the following methods:
1. Symposia are posted on the ARS website
2. Symposia guide is provided in the program schedule and in the Final Program
3. To assist with your marketing efforts, ARS will provide a pre-registration mailing list
Financial Considerations-Direct Costs: All organizations will be responsible for the management of their
event’s logistics and payment of direct costs associated with promotion, presenters, catering and audiovisual equipment & labor.
Unrestricted Educational Grant: Upon ARS approval of the satellite symposium, the symposium provider will
be invoiced for the total due. Payment is expected within 30 business days of invoice issuance.
