Course details Looking for a career teaching English? This course will help you develop the recognised essential skills and knowledge in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). The Graduate Certificate of TESOL is a high-level post-graduate qualification, positioned between a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree. Learn to assess language proficiency, apply knowledge in structured teaching, run individual lessons and integrated sequences of lessons, known as units of work. You don’t need to have any teaching experience on application of this course but upon successful completion of the program, you will be able to teach English language courses across a range of sectors including: Within Australia English language courses offered within the ELICOS sector Study tour courses Department of Education, Science and Technology (DEST) funded courses e.g. Skill for Education and Employment (SEE) AMEP as funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship English language component of Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) program Queensland Government funded courses. Entry requirements You may enrol in 39296QLD Graduate Certificate in TESOL if you have the following: a Bachelor Degree (any discipline), three-year diploma or other equivalent higher education qualification; or not less than three years full-time vocational TESOL experience (or equivalent) without a recognised higher education qualification;and for learners from a non-English speaking background: IELTS 6.5 with no score under 6 / ISLPR two skills at 3 and two at 3+ (or equivalent) as a minimum.
