Let’s Move in 2015! According to a recent article that appeared
in the York Daily Record, “there are four things that seniors can do
to stay healthy in 2015.” Those things include 1) mental exercise,
including playing cards, puzzles and learning 2) physical activity
including walking, upper
body exercises both

and vegetables and limiting
sugar and salt. All of
these things can be
accomplished at Windy
Hill at little to no cost.

Parking Reminder
Sponsor for the February Newsletter
We are still having issues with members parking too close to the handicapped ramp and on the grass.
Please do not park within 15 feet
of the handicapped ramp! Members need to be able to access the
ramp for drop-off and pick-up. Also,
please do not park on any grass areas. We also suggest that you do
not park behind other cars in the
parking area along the curb. This
makes it very difficult for drivers to
pull out of their parking spaces, and
puts your car in jeopardy of being
hit. Please use the overflow lot to
the left of the building. Thank you
for your cooperation!

ELECTRONIC SIGN-IN SYSTEM COMING SOON!
As part of the grant that was recently awarded from the PA Department of Aging,
Windy Hill will be installing a new electronic sign-in system called, “Copilot.”
This system will be a touch screen that members will utilize to sign-in and record
the activities that they will be participating in for the day. Each member will be
given a key card, similar to your discount cards, which will be swiped upon entering Windy Hill. The staff was recently trained, and we are anxious to get the system up and running. The data that is collected will be submitted to the York Co.
Area Agency on Aging and can be used for future grant writing. Once the system
is fully operation it is expected to save many hours of time.
Thank you to our volunteers!
Congratulations to Grace Harrold, winner of last month’s $20 gift card. Don’t
forget to put your name on the board when you come in each day to sign up for
a job. Fill out one slip per day to indicate your volunteer service. At the Council
Meeting each month we pull one lucky winner to win a $20 gift card. We have
many volunteers who donate many hours of their time to keep Windy Hill up
and running.
If you would like to nominate an outstanding volunteer, please fill out a nomination slip and return it to the front desk.
Volunteer of the Month
This month’s volunteer of the month is Linda
Haberkam. Linda is always willing to give a helping
hand wherever needed. She is also a great advocate
for the center, and is welcoming to new members.
Thanks Linda for your dedicated service to Windy Hill!
