VACANCY JOB TITLE: Distributor Manager AVAILABLE POSTS: 1 REPORTING: Reports directly to General Manager JOB LOCATION: Dar es Salaam SUMMARY 1. ROLE a. Manage the interface between company and its independent distributors b. Responsible for ensuring the Distributor has adequate stock of company’s products c. Working with the Distributor to i. Identify and fill distribution gaps in the territory ii. Build route plans and train Distributor salesmen iii. Implement marketing programmes and promotions in line with company’s activity iv. Ensure stock management (FIFO) and handling stock issues that may occur from time to time (e.g. return’s of damaged or out of date products) d. Collect market data regarding prices, distribution and competition as required 2. SCOPE a. This role will be based in DSM but with frequent travel around Tanzania 3. PERSON a. Experience of dealing with distributors or small business’s but would consider someone with good business acumen to be trained b. Bright, energetic and capable of working with minimum supervision agreed targets c. Previous experience of handling key accounts, working with small business owners. d. Education: Reasonable English required. Formal education immaterial if the right characteristics are there e. High degree of personal energy and integrity. f.
