Often, once the holiday season is over, many of us forget about
those less fortunate! We live where many months out of the year
are cold and snowy and, believe it or not, we have a high
number of homeless and those in need in our area. You don’t
have to donate a large amount of money to make a difference!
Just some non-perishable items to the local food pantry or small
items to the local nursing home can help put a smile on
someone’s face or feed a hungry child. Time is another thing
that can be donated. Many organizations in our area use
volunteers. Very rarely do you hear of volunteers being turned
away because there are too many people on hand to help! Please
don’t forget no matter what time of the year it is you can never
give too much or donate more than can be used. Be it your time
or a little extra you might have at the end of the day, let’s not
forget our neighbors and those who could use a boost up!

Dear Members,
The December and January Business After Hours hosted by the
Lewis County Historical Society and Myers Towpath Restaurant
have been very well attended and hugely successful! These events
are successful because they create the opportunity for networking,
business contracts and sharing ideas.
The chamber’s purpose is to benefit all Lewis County businesses by
generating ideas, providing opportunities and marketing the county as a
whole. If one business or industry succeeds in Lewis County it will have a
positive impact on another business, for this reason, we are all in it together.
Simple advertising in the chamber’s newsletter can lead to growth and success. The chamber
strides to provide these types of opportunities, small and large, to every chamber member.
As always we appreciate your thoughts and ideas. Stop in or give me a call.
See you at the February Business After Hours on February 11th!
Anne
February is here which means Valentine’s Day will soon be here. For that special dinner
with that special someone consider one of our fine restaurants right here in Lewis County.
There are many to choose from so why drive when we have it all right here.
Speaking of restaurants I want to thank Myers Towpath Restaurant for hosting the January
Business after Hours!! The food was great and so was the turn out. There were many in attendances with some
great prizes given. A great time was had by all.
The next Business after Hours will be held at Lewis County Search and Rescue. This is to be held on February
11th. I am sure that it will be a great event and I do hope we have a great turn out. Remember the Business
After Hours is a great event to not only network but it is a way to catch up with other local businesses and
discuss current trends in the business world.
There are many events planned for the month of February. To see which events might be of interest to you
please visit the Chambers website at www.lewiscountychamber.org or like us on Facebook. You can find the
link on our webpage.
I hope to see everyone at the February Business after Hours.
