Also, please visit the AFS Website at: http://www.westmichiganafs.com _______________________________________________________________________________________ February Chapter Meeting Guest Speaker Frank Garzelloni, Operations Manager, CWC Textron “What’s New at Kautex Textron, CWC Division” Frank was born in Muskegon, Michigan and currently resides in Nunica, Michigan with his wife Kristi and their combined seven children ranging from 8 to 23 years of age. He graduated from Mona Shores High School before attending Muskegon Community College and Michigan State University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994. While working as an engineer, he continued his education at Western Michigan University and received a Masters in Science in Engineering Management. Upon entering a management position, he attended Bowling Green University and received a Masters in Business Administration. Frank started his career in the foundry industry in 1995 as a foundry process engineer in the Sealed Power Corporation piston ring foundry. During his 12 years with the company, he held positions as Foundry Project Engineer, Foundry Area Manager, Foundry Engineering Manager and finally Global Manager of Continuous Improvement responsible for deploying lean manufacturing throughout 11 facilities in five countries. He left the foundry industry in 2007 and joined ALCOA as a Lean Manufacturing internal consultant supporting the multiple facilities in North America. In 2009, became Manufacturing Manager for the Thermatech Operation of ALCOA Howmet. In 2013 was given the opportunity to come back to the foundry industry as the Operations Manager for CWC Textron. Outside of work, Frank is a board member for the Friends of Pendalouan and spends his free time with his family snowboarding in the winter and enjoying the lakeshore in the summer. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Mission Statement The Western Michigan Chapter of the American Foundry Society acts as a voice to promote the metal casting industry in the West Michigan area.
