Directions: Students must work out in MS Word to send answers through E-mail or they
can write their answers on a separate sheet to submit to the respective teacher at office.
 Read the instructions carefully to solve each lesson.
Topic: Nouns Possession
Day-1. Look at the information given in the diagram and solve the task attached.
Possessive nouns are nouns that show ownership or
possession. Normally these words would be a singular or
plural noun, but in the possessive form they are used as
adjectives to modify another noun or pronoun.
The cat’s fur is soft. Here the word “cat‟s” is a possessive
noun. It is letting you know that the noun “fur” belongs
to the cat. The cat owns the fur.
We use apostrophe („s) to show
belonging or possession instead of phrase
“belongs to” or Of.
Ex- This hose belongs to Mr. Jack.
We can write
This is Mr. Jack’s house.
If a noun is singular add an apostrophe
(„) before “S”. But for a plural noun add
(„) apostrophe after „S‟.
Task- 1. Read the information from Lexis Smart Grammar Book, Pg- 50. Rewrite the
sentences following the rules. Do Ex-A. First 10 sentences, pg-51.
Day2. -2. Do Ex- B, Pg- 52, Lexis Smart Grammar Book.
Day-3. Choose the correct answer and write the sentence using that option correctly.
1. The dogs / The dog‟s collar is blue.
2. Aaron‟s / Aarons friend is named Adam.
3. I really like my grandmothers / my grandmother‟s cookies.
4. If you want to go to the movies / the movie‟s we should go by car.
5. I really like to drink soda using spiral straws / straw‟s.
6. The birds / the bird‟s egg is blue.
7. I like the smell of roses / rose‟s.
8. Diamonds / Diamond‟s are a girls / girl‟s best friend.
9. David‟s / Davids mom is very tall.
10. My brothers / My brother‟s are twins.
Day-4. Read the story ( How The Animals Got Tails) form „English Junction Course Book‟,
pg- 11. Solve the questions given in the book.
Day-5. Pick out 5 words accordingly from the story you read (How The Animals Got
Tails) to fill up each part of speech box below.
