JOEY CASON ECONOMIC UPDATE
Paul Walker, accompanied by Shelley DeLoach and Joey
Cason of Parable Financial Planning, was introduced by January Programs Chairman, Jake Strickland. Paul Walker was
described by Jake as a long-time friend and very trusting. Mr.
Walker explained his business history becoming owner of
Sapps Florists and helping friends with their financial issues as
best he could. The 39 years’ experiences with the florist business and other business consulting led him to seek a financial
planning business after selling the florist business to his
daughter and son-in-law. He now has two additional certified
financial analysts including Shelley DeLoach and Joey Cason,
with 14 years banking experience with Atlantic Coast Bank.
Joey Cason presented a program on trends in our economy
from information based upon First Trust Advisors L.P. report
January 14, 2015. He stated today every one cent decline in
price of gas saves consumers $3.7 million a day or over $575
million a day versus 6 months ago. (1) Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) grew at a 3-3.35% annual rate in Q4. (2) Oil prices will stabilize this year in the $55-70 per barrel range. (3) Federal funds
rate will likely end 2015 with a 15% increase. (5) they expect
real GDP to grow 2.5% in 2015. They believe 2015 will have
turned a positive year. Thanks for the report, Jake.
