People are needed for sprinting, jumping, hurdling, pole vaulting, throwing and for the relay teams. Lots of openings and tryouts are going on right now. Practice meets daily at 2:15pm. Sand Volleyball – Any girls interested in playing Sand Volleyball for FTHS this Spring, please come to a meeting with Coach Chip on Wednesday, 2/4, at lunch in Mr. Unchangco’s room I-107. Kiwins’ – Meeting on Wednesday in Mr. Miller’s room I-105. Mandatory ISP Meeting – Wednesday during lunch. All club presidents must attend. D-108. Students - Interested in volunteering with Kiwins’ for the robotics tournament should meet TODAY in Miller’s class I-105. Sci-Fi/Fantasy - Just a quick reminder that the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Club meets TODAY and every Tuesday in G105 at lunch in room G105. All are welcome! Speech and Debate – Meeting in Mrs. Kindred’s room TODAY, if you are going to the Stanford Invitational this meeting is mandatory. We will also be going over fundraising efforts. ISPE - All ISPE contracts are due by 2-6 if you want to be enrolled for this semester. Also, if you have not used your log by 2-6, you are subject to removal from the class. VUSD Multilingual Seal and State Seal of Biliteracy - Applications are now available. If you’re currently taking Spanish 4AP, you should pick up an application from Sr. Sánchez during FIRE/Lunch. If you have already taken Spanish 4AP and/or have taken the AP test and passed with a 3 or better, you should get an application from your counselor. Applications are due no later than MARCH 20, 2015. All completed applications should be turned in to Sr. Sánchez in room H-108. Remember, applications are ONLY available to Seniors. Attention Buena and Ventura – Athletes and Musicians Winter program photos are this Friday, February 6th during FIRE and 7th period in D-104 (Mrs. Car’s room). Fall make-up photos will be offered as well during these same times. Ms. Pelfrey - Is looking for tutors and mentors for Thursday Extended Hours in the Media Center. Get community service hours, help your fellow humans, and assist with Media Center tasks. Applications are available from Mrs. Kapala in the Media Center and from Ms. Pelfrey in room G105. FTHS Boys Volleyball – Tryouts begin Wed., Feb. 11, 6-8 pm at Cabrillo Middle School for athletes not currently in a winter sport. All athletes must have submitted a completed clearance packet to the office before trying out! Festival of Talent - Join us for an exciting evening on February 28th which begins at 5:00 p.m. at Ventura High School with pre-show activities. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Student Store until NOON February 27th. Advance tickets are $10 each and will be sold for $15 at the door. Reserved seating tickets are available on-line for $20 each at http://vep4vusd.org/Festival of Talent.html. Starry Starry Night - will be held on March 7th at the Pierpont Inn. This is Foothill's biggest fundraiser of the year, so please encourage your parents to attend. In conjunction with this year’s event there will also be an online auction so look for more info to come on the cool stuff for students and parents alike that will be offered. All proceeds from this wonderful "Vintage Ventura" themed event go to support PFSO and Renaissance. Reserve your seats now! MEDIA CENTER/COMMUNITY SERVICE SPAN - (Spay/neuter animal network) thrift store is seeking Juniors or Seniors to volunteer. Must commit to at least 2 hours a week. Come into their store at 110 N. Olive, St., Ventura (Tues-Sat) and fill out an application. This store is behind the Von’s store on Main Street.
