then joined the Beacon
Pointe receptionist staff as a
way to stay active after
retirement. But when a vacancy opened up, both women jumped at the opportunity
to help Beacon Pointe out.
them the most, Linda said it
was the friendly atmosphere
that the staff created. Lynn
told us she relies on the
positivity of the residents,
staff, and family to keep her
going!
Since their first weeks here,
we knew we had a special
team in Lynn and Linda. Now
we know just how
remarkable they are. Both
women have spent countless
hours helping to restructure
and organize our building and
won’t stop until we’re in tiptop shape!
No words can express how
happy we are to have this
dynamic duo in their new
management role– congrats,
ladies!

Meet Gina, Our Case Manager!
We are overjoyed to announce that Gina Lloyd is
coming on board as our new
Case Manager! Gina is an
original member of the
building; she began her career
here in 1998 when the
building first opened as Clare
Bridge. Gina then went onto
Daughters of Sarah, where
she remained for 15 years.
Now, Gina has returned to
us because, as she says,
memory care is her niche and
where her heart is.
Gina has a Bachelor of Social
Work from Siena College.
She lives locally with her
husband and two children.
Gina is excited to get back
into the swing of things here
at Beacon Pointe. Everyone
should look forward to seeing
Gina out and about on the
floor and in the community as
she takes on the role of Case
Manager. Gina will be
conducting assessments and
helping families transition into
their new homes. She will
also be running our Family
Council and Family Support
Group meetings– so make
sure to stop by for these
events and Introduce
yourself.
Welcome back, Gina!

Employees of the Month
Spread love everywhere
you go. Let no one ever
come to you without
leaving happier.
~Mother Teresa
We would like to recognize
Lynn Walsh and Linda
Hughes as our Employees
of the Month. During the
last month, they have
helped to rejuvenate our
building through their
organization and
enthusiasm. They completed tasks that we would
never have been able to do
with out them, including
revamping our systems for
the new year. Their
determination and zeal to
succeed made it clear that
they were the perfect
candidates to become our
new Business Office
Directors. We are happy
to congratulate them on
becoming Employees of
the Month and thrilled to
see what they will do as
Business Office Directors!

Resident of the Month: Hazel B!
Hazel was born in Walton,
NY in 1929. Hazel lived most
of her years in Menands, NY
with her husband, Jack, and
their five children, John,
Brenda, Jim, Stephen, and
Matthew. Hazel worked as a
secretary in a Kindergarteneighth grade elementary
school for over 20 years. In
her spare time, she enjoyed
being a member of the Rotary
Club and Bethany
Presbyterian Church.
Here at Beacon Pointe, Hazel
is a vital part of our
community. With only a smile,
she can brighten your day.
Hazel enjoys jigsaw puzzles,
painting nails, and taking walks
throughout the building.
Hazel, we love you and are so
glad you are a part of our
home!
Family Council & Family Support Group
As the New Year comes into full swing we will be restarting our Family Council meetings. In an effort to
make both Family Council and Family Support Group as beneficial as possible, we will be generating an
online survey to better understand your wants and needs as related to these programs (look for it in your
email). For families who are new to Beacon Pointe, we have defined both meetings below.
Family Council:
Family Council is an opportunity for family members to come together to discuss building matters. Any
comments or concerns related to goings on in the building can be discussed and addressed. Topics can include dining, nursing, activities, housekeeping, and anything else the families would like to talk about.
Family Support Group:
Family Support Group meetings are a time for families who are going through similar circumstances to
gather together, with the support of a qualified staff person, to offer each other encouragement, comfort,
and advise. This is a safe space for discussion and a great place to ask for resources.
