APD informs residents on new Assembly Bill 60
The
Avenal
Police
Department would like to
inform the residents of
Avenal about a new law
which took effect January 1,
2015.
Assembly Bill 60
requires the DMV to issue an
original driver's license to an
applicant who is unable to
submit satisfactory proof that
the applicant's presence in
the United States is authorized under federal law, if he
or she meets all other qualifications for licenses and provides satisfactory proof to the
DMV of this or identity and
California
residency.
Acceptable
documents
include:
• An unexpired consular
identification document from
the applicant's country of citizenship or unexpired pass-
port from the same country.
• Original birth certificate
or other proof of age, as designated by the DMV
• Home utility bill, lease or
rental agreement which
proves
residency
in
California.
One of the following documents, which, if in a language, other than English,
shall be accompanied by a
certified translation of an
affidavit or translation into
English:
• Marriage license or
divorce certificate
• Foreign federal electoral
photo card issued on or after
January 1, 1991
• Foreign driver's license
• Unites States Department
of Homeland Security Form
I-589
• Official school or college
transcripts that includes
applicants date of birth or a
foreign school records that is
sealed and includes a photograph of the applicant at the
age the record was issued.
• Deed or title to real
property
• Income tax return
• Property tax bill or statement issued within the previous 12 months.
The
Avenal
Police
Department would also like
residents to know that the law
prohibits businesses or private parties for charging people to assist them in the completion of the necessary AB
60 paperwork. If you need

Road construction wrapping up
Shown above there has been total reconstruction on Fifth St., from Mariposa down to
Skyline Blvd., as well as Third St., from San Joaquin to Skyline Blvd. The curbs have been
updated to accommodate the handicap and to meet state standards. Finishing touches will
be completed once the sun comes out loong enough to dry up the streets. The contractors
will return to put a seal on the street then. City of Avenal public works will then be redoing the stop bars and crosswalks.

identidad y residencia en

Documentos
aceptados incluyen:
• Identificación matricula
consular que no se vencido
del condado del aplicante, o
pasaporte del pais del aplicante.
• Acta de nacimiento original o otra prueba de edad,
designado por DMV.
• Un factura de servicios
publicos, o arrendamiento o
contrato de alquiler que prueba muesta residencia en
California.
Uno de los documentos

Inglés, deberia ser submitito
con un certificado de traduccion o traduccion a Inglés:
• Certificado de matrimonio or certificado de divorcio.

Avenal’s Got Talent Contest
Rescheduled for April 18, 2015
at Rice Park during “Stop, Look and Listen” Kids Day.
If you are interested or know anyone who is stop by City Hall between
8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to pick up a registration form.
We will be holding a parent/contestant meeting prior to contest to go
