These were held to determine who would participate in the school bee. All participants did a great job. Two students from each class were selected. Here are the winners from the individual grades: Fourth Grade: Ava Gunn, Xander Widener, Sam Appleton, and Matthew Hitchcock. (Matthew Harrison filled in for Ava at Bee time.) SAVE THE DATE! In January, the classes gathered in the SJN Catholic School library to cheer on their representatives. Mrs. Mitchiner read the questions to the contestants. After several rounds, the final winners were determined: fourth-grader Matthew Hitchcock, first place, and fifth-grader Sahil Singh, second place. Matthew will take a comprehensive written test that will be sent to the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. for grading. He will be notified in the spring if he is invited to participate in the South Carolina State Bee. We wish him the best of luck!
