allı́? En palabras de nuestro Pá rroco, el Padre John, “El Consejo
Pastoral de nuestra parroquia es un grupo de hombres y mujeres
que han pasado por un discernimiento y a quienes se les encomienda el ministerio de escuchar: a Dios, a sus corazones y a la
gente de Prince Of Peace. Tambié n se les ha con iado el ministerio de hablar: preocupaciones, consejo y preguntas al pá rroco, al
clero y al personal administrativo que le ayudan a pastorear
nuestra parroquia.”
Cada miembro sirve por tres añ os y puede re-discernir si
desea continuar por otro té rmino adicional. El consejo usualmente se reú ne una vez al mes ademá s de algunas oportunidades adicionales en que comparten juntos , como por ejemplo en
un dı́a de oració n. La reunió n mensual sigue una agenda que ha
sido establecida por el Pá rroco y un miembro que se designa
como presidente. En la reunió n, los miembros tienen una oportunidad de compartir sus pensamientos y puntos de vista respecto a los temas que se discuten lo mismo que cualquier otro
asunto que otros feligreses les hayan hecho llegar.
Fue el Consejo Pastoral quienes reconocieron la necesidad de
mejorar las comunicaciones de la Parroquia lo que llevó al desarrollo del Ministerio de Comunicaciones. De forma similar, fue
gracias al liderazgo del Consejo Pastoral que la Adoració n Eucarı́stica está disponible a diario en Prı́ncipe de Paz. Hace dos
añ os el Consejo Pastoral rediseñ o los Fines de Semana de Bienvenida convirtié ndolos en Domingos de Hermandad. Adicionalmente, el Consejo Pastoral decidió “Hacer Algo Enfá tico” tanto
para Pascua como para Navidad manteniendo nuestro tema de la
Nueva Evangelizació n. Má s de 6,425 CDs se entregaron a los
feligreses (ElTriunfodelaResurrecció n en inglé s, y ¿PorqueSoy
Católico? en Español). También fue por recomendación del Consejo Pastoral que todas las cabezas de departamento asistan durante el añ o a una de las reuniones mensuales para que el consejo pueda aprender de los demá s que requieren atenció n en cada
departamento.
Todo lo que hacen tiene que ver con escuchar y hacer recomendaciones. Tiene que ver con orar. El Consejo Pastoral comienza sus reuniones con una oració n por los sacerdotes y terminan con una oració n por las vocaciones.
