“Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness
for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I
will never forget you.” How difficult it is to accept or
even believe these words. God tells us “I will never
forget you” and yet we continue to doubt and question
his presence, his assistance in the time of need. Why is
it that we continue to doubt him? “So do not worry and
say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink?'
or 'What are we to wear?' All these things the pagans
seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them
all.”

The wine, hosts, and tabernacle candle
may be offered in honor of a loved one
for a month.
THE WINE consecrated and distributed at all
Masses today has been offered for the spiritual and
temporal welfare of Segundo Perez.
THE CANDLES used today at all Masses have been
offered for the spiritual and temporal welfare of
Alfred Cifelle.
THE HOSTS used today at all Masses have been
offered for the spiritual and temporal welfare of
Eloina Roman.
THE TABERNACLE CANDLE used today at all Masses
has been offered for the repose of the soul of
Rev. Chris Anyanwu.
Trust is all God is asking of us. He desires that we
believe he cares and supplies all of our needs. This
request depends also on our detachments to material
things, because they vanish like smoke in the air, “but
seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given you besides. ”
Worrying does not help our soul nor our physical
health. Surrender all of your worries to Jesus that is
what he desires, that you may say: Lord, I give you all
of my life, with its joys and pains, with its richness and
its poverty. And trust that He will never forget you.
With much love,
Fr. Bismarck

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
About Sister Marie Cooper, IHM
Sr. Marie currently serves as Program Director and Project
Leader for the Why Catholic? and RENEW Africa. She is a
member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, Province of USA
& Canada. Sr. Marie is trained in spiritual direction and retreat
work.
Saint Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral, thanks to the wonderful
enthusiasm of Father Bismarck, is looking to start up a
Youth and Young Adult Ministry Program. We are
seeking to form a CORE Team of young adults and
adults who have a heart on fire for Christ, His Church,
and for the Youth.
Though the Program itself would not start until the Fall,
we are gathering everyone together now in an effort to
train and equip them for the adventure of ministry.

necesidad. ¿Por qué seguimos dudando de él? "Así que
no te preocupes y di: '¿Q ué comeremos o qué beberemos
Preocupa rse no
Cifelle.

ARCHDIOCESE OF NEWARK: 2017 LENTEN REGULATIONS
1.
The days of both Fast and Abstinence during Lent are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. If possible, the Fast on Good Friday is
continued until the Easter Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the “Pascal Fast” to honor the suffering and death of our Lord
Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily His Resurrection. The other Fridays of Lent
are days of Abstinence. On a day of Fast, only one (1) meal is permitted, and two (2) smaller meals, which, if added together,
would not exceed the main meal in quantity. Those between the ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to Fast.
2.
The obligation to observe the laws of Fast and Abstinence “substantially”, or as a whole, is a serious obligation.
3.
The Fridays of the year, outside of Lent, are designated as days of penance, but each individual may substitute for the traditional abstinence from meat some other practice of voluntary self-denial as penance.
4.
The time for fulling the Pascal Precept (the Easter Duty aka receiving the Most Holy Eucharist at least once a year) extends
from the First Sunday of Lent, March 5, 2017 to The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, June 11, 2017.
