Christ the King School will be hosting a Prospective Parent Coffee for Kindergarten Parents only, January 11, 2017, at 9:00am in the Hyland Center. RSVP to [email protected] The First Christmas First graders of Christ the King School prepared their hearts for the coming of Jesus through their annual performance of "The First Christmas." The innkeeper made room in his stable for the holy family, the barnyard animals kept watch during the night, and the shepherds and wise men knelt down before baby Jesus. Through their spoken words and singing voices, our first graders helped us to remember the true meaning of this Christmas season: the coming of Jesus Christ, whose birth would bring about salvation to all of us on earth. 8 EPHIPHANY OF THE LORD JANUARY 8TH, 2017 Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Epiphany. The word “epiphany” comes from the Greek epiphainen, a verb that means “to shine upon,” “to manifest,” or “to make known.” What the Church celebrates today is the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ to the whole world; after being made known to the shepherds of Bethlehem, He is revealed to the Magi who have come from the East to adore Him. The Epiphany should be and is a great Feast for us. The joy we felt at the birth of Christ on Christmas must be renewed today (and every day for that matter). In a sense this is a second Christmas Day as it puts the Lord in a new light. This day manifests the divinity of Jesus. At Christmas it was a few shepherds who were invited by the Angels to go and witness and recognize the Lord. However, today, at the Epiphany, the voice of God calls the whole world, each and every one of us, to adore Jesus, and to hear Him. The Epiphany or the realization of the divinity and saving grace of the Lord should lead us as individuals to a personal epiphany. In a sense an epiphany is representative of conversion, conversion to the truth. If we accept Christ as our Savior and if we truly strive to live our lives as His disciple, we begin to pursue lives of stewardship, lives of love and service. Today of all days should help us in that realization and in that goal. 9 CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE KING CATEDRAL DE CRISTO REY 2699 Peachtree Road NE Atlanta, GA 30305 MISIÓN CATÓLICA DE CRISTO REY 3349 Buford Highway, Suite 28 C Brookhaven, GA 30329 ( a la mano derecha de Briarwood Rd) MINISTERIO HISPANO Padre Feiser Muñoz Teléfono 404-267-3696 Horario Lunes a Viernes : 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CELEBRACIÓN EUCARÍSTICA Capilla Martes Kenny Hall Sábado Catedral Domingo Misión Domingo EN ESPAÑOL 7:00 PM 5:00 PM 1:30 PM 9:00 AM 11:00 AM CONFESIONES Lunes y Miércoles 7:15 - 7:45 AM 6:00 - 6:30 PM Sábados 8:30 - 9 AM / 3 - 4:00 PM Misión Domingos 10:00 11:00 AM Otros días, previa cita únicamente.
