Dirigidos por la nube de Dios
Lectura bíblica
Éxodo 13:17 Y luego que Faraón dejó ir al pueblo, Dios no los llevó por el camino de la tierra
de los filisteos, que estaba cerca; porque dijo Dios: Para que no se arrepienta el pueblo cuando
vea la guerra, y se vuelva a Egipto.
18 Mas hizo Dios que el pueblo rodease por el camino del desierto del Mar Rojo. Y subieron
los hijos de Israel de Egipto armados.
19 Tomó también consigo Moisés los huesos de José, el cual había juramentado a los hijos de
Israel, diciendo: Dios ciertamente os visitará, y haréis subir mis huesos de aquí con vosotros.
20 Y partieron de Sucot y acamparon en Etam, a la entrada del desierto.
21 Y Jehová iba delante de ellos de día en una columna de nube para guiarlos por el camino, y
de noche en una columna de fuego para alumbrarles, a fin de que anduviesen de día y de noche.
22 Nunca se apartó de delante del pueblo la columna de nube de día, ni de noche la columna
de fuego.
Materiales

alumno, Libro de Figuras, láminas,
tizas, vendas, globos, lápices, colores,
cartulina, hilo de lana o cordón, una
perforadora, marcadores o crayones
y cinta adhesiva.
¡Es tiempo de empezar!
Comenzamos un nuevo semestre y le recomendamos que renueve la decoración del salón. Puede colocar figuras alusivas al desierto,
como cactus, palmeras, etc. Inicie con una
oración para que dé gracias a Dios por sus
estudiantes. Seleccione los cantos que entonarán durante el tiempo de alabanza, use pistas
y videos que motiven a sus niños a adorar a
Dios. Guíelos para que pasen al frente y depositen la ofrenda en el platillo. Dé gracias al
Señor por las ofrendas y desarrolle el siguiente
segmento.
Datos bíblicos para el maestro
El clamor de los israelitas fue escuchado por
Dios y los liberó de la esclavitud a la que habían sido sometidos por Faraón. El pueblo
de Israel necesitaba disciplinarse y prepararse
para la tarea de conquistar Canaán y qué mejor lugar para hacerlo que el desierto. El Señor
no los guió por la ruta directa de Egipto a la
tierra prometida; los llevó por un camino más
largo para evitar confrontaciones con pueblos
enemigos y hostiles. La ruta directa estaba
defendida por guarniciones egipcias, además,
en aquel tiempo había un gran muro desde el
mar Muerto hasta el Mediterráneo. Dios los
condujo, no por el camino más corto, sino
por el que era mejor para ellos. La columna
de fuego y la de nube, nunca se apartaron del
campamento de los israelitas hasta que llegaron a la tierra prometida.
Actividad introductoria
Con anticipación trace en el piso del patio
o de un salón amplio un camino ancho que
tenga curvas. En el momento de la dinámica
lleve a los niños al camino que dibujó y diríjalos para hacer la siguiente actividad: Con
los ojos vendados, uno de ellos recorrerá el
camino, si se sale de este pierde (cae al
vacío). Para lograr el objetivo, otro
alumno lo guiará. Antes de ir al lugar que preparó escoja algunos niños para que les vende los ojos,
ya que estos no podrán ver el
camino que deben recorrer. El
guía asignado (cualquiera de
la clase) le indicará el camino a
su compañero con palabras, por
ejemplo: camina a la derecha, levanta un pie, etc. Los que recorran
el sendero sin salirse ganarán, (prémielos con pequeños obsequios). Al
terminar, reflexione acerca de cómo
se sintieron al depender de alguien
para hacer el recorrido de un camino

que no conocían. Pregúnteles a los que llegaron a la meta: ¿Cómo lo lograron?, ¿les ayudó
escuchar las instrucciones?... Relacione sus
respuestas con el tema de la clase. Diga que
les va a hablar de un pueblo que no sabía el
camino que recorrería y cómo Dios los guió
y los cuidó.
Historia bíblica
(Los niños pueden leer y dramatizar la historia bíblica. Dibuje una nube y una columna
de fuego en cartulina. Un niño puede ir adelante sosteniendo la nube y luego otro muestra la columna de fuego).
—¿Por qué tenemos que irnos? —le preguntó
un niño a su papá cuando lo vio empacando
con afán.
Es que aquí en Egipto no somos libres, y después de muchos años de esclavitud el faraón
por fin nos ha dejado partir. ¡Somos libres!,
—contestó el papá. —¿A dónde vamos,
papá?, ¿dónde será nuestra nueva
casa? —No lo sé, hijo, esperemos
a que Moisés nos guíe. —Le pudo
haber respondido el padre.
Mientras tanto, Moisés les decía:
—¡Dense prisa! Tenemos un largo
camino por recorrer. Cuando los
hombres reunieron a sus familias,
sus pertenencias, animales y las
joyas que los egipcios les regalaron, salieron de ese país. Ya casi
amanecía cuando comenzaron
su recorrido. Al transcurrir el día
cuando el sol salió con todo su esplendor comenzaron a sentir calor.

Biblical information
for the teacher
God heard the Israelites’ cry and He freed
them from the slavery they had been subjected to by The Pharaoh. The people of Israel
needed to train and prepare themselves for the
task of conquering Canaan, and what better
place to do so than the desert. The Lord did
not guide them down the direct path from
Egypt to the Promised Land; He took them
on a longer path in order to prevent confrontations with hostile enemies. The direct route
was defended by Egyptian guards and, at that
time, there was a great wall from the Dead Sea
to the Mediterranean. God did not lead them
on the shortest path, but on the path that was
best for them. The pillar of fire and the cloud
never departed the Israelites’ camp until they
arrived in the Promised Land.

Bible reading
Exodus 13:17 Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead
them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps
the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of
Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.
19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had placed the children of Israel
under solemn oath, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from
here with you.”
20 So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness. 21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in
a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. 22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the
people.
It’s time to start!
We are beginning a new semester and we remind you to renew the decorations in your
class. You can hang pictures associated with
the desert, like cacti, palm trees, etc. Begin
with prayer to give thanks to God for your
students. Choose songs you will sing during
the time of praise, use soundtracks or videos that motivate the children to worship
God. Ask everyone to come to the front to
give their offerings in the offering plate. Give
thanks to the Lord for the offerings and then
do the next segment.
Introductory activity
Before class, create a winding wide path in
the classroom or outside on the floor. When
it is time for the activity, take the children to
the path that you drew and direct them to do
the following activity: With a blindfold on,
one of the children will walk the path, if
they step out of it they will lose (they
fall off the cliff). To achieve this objective, another student will guide
them. Before going to the place
that you prepared, choose
some children who will be
blindfolded, so they will not
be able to see the path they will
walk on. The guide that you assign (anyone from the class) will
indicate the path to their classmate
only with words, for example: walk
to the right, lift one foot, etc. The
ones who can walk the path without
stepping out will win, (reward them
with small prizes). Upon finishing,
talk about how it felt to depend on
someone in order to walk the path that they
did not know. Ask those who made it to the
end: How did it feel? Did it help to follow instructions? Relate their answers to the topic of
the class. Tell them that you are going to talk
about a group of people that did not know
the path they were walking on and how God
guided them and cared for them.
Bible story
(The children can read and dramatize the
Bible story. Draw a cloud and a pillar of fire
on poster board. A child can go in front holding the cloud and then another can show the
pillar of fire).
“Why do we have to go?” a child asked his
father as he watched him frantically packing.
“Because in Egypt we are not free, after many
years of slavery The Pharaoh is letting us go.
We are free!” his father answered. “Where will
we go father? Where will our house be?”
“I do not know son, let us wait until Moses guides us,” he could have
replied.
Meanwhile Moses told them,
“Hurry up! We have a long way
to go.” When the men gathered
their family, they gathered their
belongings, animals and jewels,
which the Egyptians had given
them when they left their country, it was almost dawn when they
began their journey. As the day
went by, when the sun rose with
all its splendor, they began to feel
hot. In the desert, the sun and
heat is very strong because the terrain is arid, there are no plants or

que soportar, pero, entonces, vieron aparecer
una nube que poco a poco fue tapando el sol,
hasta cubrirlo totalmente. ¡Ah, que oportuna
nube nos ha mandado el Señor!, pensaron los
israelitas y agradecieron a Dios por esta bendición. Pero por la noche cuando todo estaba
oscuro y no podían ver muy bien, Dios los
sorprendió. La nube se había convertido en
una columna de fuego que les alumbraba el
camino, también les daba calorcito porque
en el desierto refresca por las noches. (Muestre la escena del pueblo de Dios guiado por la
nube). Los israelitas estaban contentos porque
la nube los protegía y los alumbraba. Pero esta
también tenía otros propósitos como guiarlos
por el camino que debían seguir, también les
indicaba cuándo debían detenerse en sus actividades o cuándo seguir. ¡Qué bueno fue el
Señor! Él iba delante de su pueblo, lo orientaba y lo protegía, por el día con la nube y por
la noche con la columna de fuego. Aunque los
israelitas pasaron muchos años caminando en
el desierto, ¿creen que la nube dejó de salir algún día o que la columna de fuego se apagó
alguna noche? ¡No! Dice la Biblia que Dios
hizo que la nube y el fuego, los acompañaran
todos los días, hasta que entraron al lugar que
Él les había prometido.
Aplicación
La nube y la columna de fuego que los israelitas
miraban en el cielo representaba que Dios estaba en medio de ellos guiándolos y cuidándolos.
Al ver la nube o la columna sentían que el Señor estaba con ellos y que dirigía sus vidas. El
Señor también los cuida a ustedes, en el día o la
noche, cuando llueve o hace sol, en momentos
de alegría o de tristeza, porque Él ha prometido
estar siempre con los que le aman.
Permita que los niños comenten cómo Dios
los ha guiado y cuidado cada día. Anímelos a
recordar la ayuda oportuna del Señor en situaciones especiales.
Dinámica de repaso
Forme dos grupos, uno será egipcios y otro
israelita. Pida a los niños que se sienten en las
sillas y formen un círculo. Explique que cuando diga “egipcios” (o israelitas), todos los que
pertenecen a ese grupo se levantan y cambian
de puesto (saque una silla). El que se quede
sin puesto debe cumplir una sanción, pero si
responde correctamente una pregunta queda
eximido y gana dos puntos para su equipo. El
que se quedó sin puesto debe estar pendiente
para sentarse en una silla vacía en la siguiente
tanda. Haga lo mismo cada vez. Al final, gana
el grupo que más puntos obtenga.

Conquistadores alumno
Entregue a los niños un ejemplar del libro del
alumno y explique cómo deben desarrollar las
actividades. Designe a alguien para que lea las
instrucciones y luego usted las explicará. Dé la
orden para que comiencen a trabajar.
Ayudas visuales
El Libro de Figuras que acompaña a este texto,
contiene las escenas que ilustran cada lección.
Para cada tema hay una lámina grande que
comprende la escena principal del estudio.
Al pie de la página de cada una, encontrará
el número y el título de la lección a la que
pertenece. Muéstrela en el momento indicado
en la historia bíblica.
Trabajo opcional
Los niños harán un móvil. Necesitarán: 8 cuadros de cartulina o papel construcción, una
tira de cartulina papel o papel construcción de
12” x 4”, hilo de lana o cordón, una perforadora, marcadores o crayones y cinta adhesiva.
Pida que en dos cuadrados de cartulina pinten
soles y en los otros dos lunas y las estrellas y en
los demás deben pintar actividades que hace
en el día y en la noche. Luego que cuelguen
debajo de los soles las actividades de día y debajo de las lunas las que hacen en la noche. En
la tira larga deben escribir: “Dios siempre me
cuida”. Use la perforadora para hacer los orificios por donde pasarán los hilos. El móvil se
debe armar como lo muestra la ilustración. Al
final de la clase, que lo lleven a casa para que
recuerden que Dios los cuida siempre.
Clausura
Ofrézcales una merienda sencilla. Para despedirlos indíqueles tomarse de las manos y ore
para que ellos puedan sentir el cuidado de
Dios.

trees to provide shade. The Israelites thought
about the heat they would have to endure, but
then they saw a cloud appearing little by little
which blocked the sun, until it completely
covered it. “Oh what a wonderful cloud the
Lord has sent us!” the Israelites thought and
thanked God for this blessing. But at night
when everything was dark and they could not
see very well, God surprised them. The cloud
had turned into a pillar of fire that lit the way.
It also provided heat because in the desert it
gets cold at night. (Show the scene of the children of Israel being guided by the cloud). The
Israelites were happy because the cloud protected them and lit the way. But it also served
the purpose of guiding them and indicating
the path that they should follow. It also told
them when they should stop their activities
or when to follow. The Lord was so good! He
went before His people, guiding and protecting them by day with a cloud and by night
with a pillar of fire. Although the children of
Israel spent many years walking in the desert,
do you think that the cloud stopped appearing one day or that the pillar of fire went out
one night? No! The Bible says that God made
the cloud and the fire accompany them every
day until they reached the place that He had
promised them.
Application
The cloud and the pillar of fire that the Israelites
saw in the sky showed them that God was in
the midst of them guiding and caring for them.
When they saw the cloud or the pillar, they felt
that the Lord was with them and that He directed their lives. The Lord also cares for you, in the
day or at night, when it rains or is sunny, in moments of joy or sadness, because He promised to
always be with those who love Him.
Allow the children to talk about how God has
guided and cared for them every day. Encourage them to remember how God helped them
at just the right moment in special situations.
Dynamic review
Form two groups; one will be the Egyptians
and the other the Israelites. Ask the children
to sit in their seats and form a circle. Explain
that when you say “Egyptians (or Israelites)”
everyone who belongs to the group should
stand up and change seats (remove a chair).
Whoever is left without a seat should comply
with a penalty, but if they answer a question
correctly, they will be exempt from doing it
and will earn two points for their team. They
should pay attention in order to sit in an empty chair on the next round. Do the same thing
each time. At the end, the group that has obtained the most points will be the winner.

Exercises in the Conquerors
student workbook
Give the children a student workbook and
explain how they should do the activity. Designate someone to read the instructions and
then you will explain them. Tell them to begin
to work.
Visual aids
The Book of Figures that accompanies this
book contains the scene that illustrates the
lesson. For each topic, there is a large picture
that shows the main scene of the study. At the
foot of each page, you will find the number
and the title of the lesson it belongs to. Show
it in the moment indicated in the Bible story.
Optional work
The children will make a mobile pendant. They
will need: 8 card stock or construction paper
squares, a long strip of construction paper 12”
x 4” long, yarn or other string, a hole punch,
markers and crayons and tape. Ask them to
draw the sun on two squares and the moon and
stars on two squares and on the rest they should
draw activities that they do in the daytime and
at night. Then, have them hang the daytime
activities under the suns and the nighttime
activities under the moons. On the long strip
they can write: “God always takes care of me.”
Use the whole punch to make the holes where
the yarn will go. The mobile should be made
like the one in the illustration. At the end of
class, they will take them home to remember
that God always takes care of them.
Closing
Offer a simple snack. To dismiss, have them
hold hands and pray; help them feel that God
cares for them.
