Biodiversity Seminar Series The Biodiversity Seminar Series is pleased to announce the Peruvian Barcode of Life Network delegation presenting The adoption of DNA-based species identification approaches in Peru The Peruvian visit is part of Sub-project ENV05-2012 under the auspices of the Canada-Americas TradeRelated Technical Assistance (CATRTA) program. The objectives of this visit are centered on Peru's adoption of DNA barcoding and the integration of its national Barcode of Life Network (PeBOL - http://pebol.org) with the International Barcode of Life project (iBOL - http://ibol.org). The aim is to scope out cooperation opportunities between Canada and Peru in areas of research, regulatory and business applications of DNA based species identification. It offers an opportunity to discuss the ways Peru's academic, government institutions and businesses can build partnerships with Canadian counterparts in harmonizing regulatory frameworks and advancing economic development while addressing the imperative of biodiversity conservation.
