We hear the word of God each Sunday in the Scriptures read or sung during the Liturgy of the Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to realize what Jesus has done, as you hear God’s word. We also hear an abundance of scriptural references in the prayers of the Mass. In Eucharistic Prayer III, we hear, “… in your compassion, O merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world.” (cf. Jn 11:51). This is the intent of God: to gather a family and to do so by the blood of Christ on the Cross. This redemptive act is to bring each one of us back into the family of God. This Lent, meditate on the greatest act of love of Christ on the Cross. In this saving act of love, we have gained access to God’s presence in heaven. But grace is never automatic, because grace does not take away human freedom. Rather, grace elevates the human person so we see more clearly God’s plan for us, and desire more strongly to choose God’s plan for us. Father Lee Roos Question of the Week: What weighs me down and distances me from God? How can I set that aside this week to free myself for a life-changing encounter with Jesus? You are invited to A Moment In Time ~ “Come Walk with Me” On Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00pm, you are invited to A Moment in Time “Come W alk with Me” ~ a program designed for us to reflect on our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 2015 B ISHOP ’ S L ENTEN APPEAL For the Bishop’s Lenten A ppeal, we have 1,249 pledges, for a total of $355,467. The Virginia Catholic Conference represents the public policy interests of the two Catholic Bishops in Virginia. • The Office of Youth Ministry ser ves as a r esour ce in each parish for youth ministers to fully incorporate young people to Christ and his Church. Events that promote Christian fellowship and service, while instilling compassion and spiritual growth among youth, are coordinated through this Office. The office also provides assistance to school leaders in the spiritual, intellectual and social formation of students. Mark Forrest, International Irish Tenor, will lead us in Eucharistic adoration, music, meditations and quiet time in prayer. Lent is a wonderful time for reevaluating what we as married couples place as most important in our marriage. Churches throughout the area are participating in 40 Days for Life. Until Sunday, March 29th, our community will be uniting our prayer and fasting with others across North America for a massive coordinated pro-life mobilization during 40 days for an end to abortion! To sign up for sidewalk prayer, see the table in the church narthex. Please join us for a Lenten evening of Marriage Enrichment on Saturday, March 14th in the All Saints Chapel at 7:00pm (please be on time!) as Fr.
