The St. Pius X Parish School Board is seeking candidates to add a minimum of three new members for the 2015-2016
school year. If you are interested in this three-year commitment, you are encouraged to observe the April School Board
Meeting in the School Library:
April School Board Meeting - Monday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m.
You are also required to attend one of two upcoming Discernment meetings in the School Library.
Discernment Meeting - Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m.

At each Discernment meeting current board members will explain Discernment process, share their Discernment stories,
and will ask questions to discuss candidates' beliefs, backgrounds and interests.
School Board members need to attend monthly meetings and possess the time, willingness and organizational skills to
work on projects with fellow board members and others as necessary to accomplish goals.

Parishioners and school parents are invited to participate in the Discernment process at St. Pius X Parish School.

caminar hacia Dios, nuestro Padre.

Diaconate Formation Program
Discernment Sessions
Beginning in September an application will be available on-line for entry into the Diaconate Formation Program. In preparation for
this we will be offering a program of discernment for men and their wives who may feel called to the vocation of deacon. The
program consists of 3 sessions: an informational session, providing an overview of the formation program; a discernment session, in
which the inquirers reflect on the call to the diaconate in terms of their spiritual readiness, personal commitment, marriage and
family issues and communal discernment; and a follow-up session with a time for questions and answers. Our hope is that this
process will aid the men in the process of discerning their call to service as ordained men or as lay persons.
Men applying to the diaconate this year will not be ordained until 2020, so please consider encouraging involved men of your
parish to attend these sessions. Even if you currently have deacons, they’ll be five years older by 2020.
The program will be run in different locations around the diocese and there will also be one Spanish program site:

Strengthening the Church at Home
The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place next week. One way that this appeal works to strengthen home mission dioceses
in the United States is by funding seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on
these dioceses, where educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year. Your support is needed for these young men so that they
might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week’s appeal.

COMMUNITY NEWS
FRIENDS OF THE RESURRECTION GET-TOGETHER
SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2015 FROM 9 -11 AM AT
ST. SCHOLASTICA'S CHURCH, WOODRIDGE, IL
If you are looking for more hope in your life and are impressed by the Resurrectionist who has
been ministering in your parish, then, come to the next Friends of the Resurrection
Get-Together on Saturday, April 25 from 9 -11 am at St. Scholastica's Church.
Friends of the Resurrection is an informal group of parishioners from parishes staffed by the
Congregation of the Resurrection in the Joliet Diocese. We pray together in the context of
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for blessings on the ministry of Resurrectionists
throughout the world and listen to a great speaker.
Our speaker for this next session is the dynamic Rev. Paul Sims, C.R., Ph.D, professor of
education at Concordia University. Father Paul's talk is entitled “Conversion, a Resurrecting
Experience.” He will share with us how the experience of conversion inspired three young men
to found the Congregation of the Resurrection.
After the talk and Benediction, please join us at the parish for a light lunch. There is no cost for this event and there is
nothing to commit to – yet. Our hope is that eventually we will form an association of Friends of the Resurrection in the
Joliet Diocese.
Everyone is welcome including children and young adults. No reservations necessary. Please come!
St. Scholastica's Church is located at 7800 Janes Ave., Woodridge, Il (On Janes, a few blocks South of 75th Street.).
The following parishes in the Joliet Diocese are served by the Congregation of the Resurrection:
St. Pius X (Lombard); Holy Trinity (Westmont); St. Mark (Wheaton); Immaculate Conception (Morris); and
St. Scholastica (Woodridge).
