It follows immediately from our “shift” at the Abortion Center which went from midnight on Friday to midnight on Saturday. Thanks to you all who participated. It also follows from the all night Vigil that began Friday evening after the Spanish Mass to Saturday morning before the 8:30 a.m. Mass. These vigils have been held now for the past eleven years in reparation for the sins committed against the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Thank you to all who have participated in this important work. We will continue to adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament through the night of the First Friday/First Saturday until we can’t do it anymore. Father Oscar Mendoza has been helping us to extend our adoration hours little by little in preparation for the day that once the Chapel of St. Toribio Romo is completed we hope to have adoration of the Blessed Sacrament going on around the clock 24/7. We also hope to have morning prayers each morning at 8:00 a.m. and evening prayers each evening at 6:00 p.m. Our hope is that there will be people here praying continually and participating in the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours and celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass several times each day. The big Church will be used for the celebration of the Latin Mass each morning at 7:00 a.m. while the small Chapel will generally be used for the celebration of the English Mass and Spanish Mass leaving the Chapel of St. Toribio free to be a place of continuous adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I am not sure when the Chapel of St. Toribio will be completed and so I have not set any date yet for the blessing. I am waiting to see how the progress of the construction proceeds in the next month. We still have to get the stone from Mexico up here and build the altar and I am not sure how long that will take. I am very hopeful that more and more of our people will come through with pledges and gifts to give us $1,000.00 for the construction work. Right now 15 people have agreed to do so. I have been October 4, 2015 asking for 100 people from our community to step forward to help. I will keep announcing it and posting reminders so that everyone is aware of the need and I believe there will be at least 100 people who will do so. Please keep praying to St. Joseph, St. Andre and St. Toribio Romo so that when we finish the chapel we will have no debt. Next summer Father Juan Pablo and I are hoping to go to Canada to the Basilica of St. Joseph in Montreal to give thanks on behalf of our community for the financial aid that ST. Joseph gave to us through his powerful prayers. Of course St. Andre was the one who built the Basilica in Montreal through his tireless work of promoting devotion to St. Joseph and ST. Toribio Romo is the Patron Saint of the Immigrants in whose honor the chapel is being built. So he has to help us!! Thank you to all who are giving so generously to this special project. One day it will be visited by people from throughout the U.S. and will truly be a place of prayer and diffusion of devotion to the Saint of the Immigrants and his fellow martyrs. October is “pro-life” month and so please remember to make frequent visits to the Abortion Center to pray to end abortion. Pray also for those committing the sin of abortion either directly or indirectly. Also, October is the month of the Holy Rosary so please pray the rosary every day during this month in your homes or here at the Church in common. We are hoping to pray each evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Church as well as each morning following the 8:30 a.m. Mass. We have also started praying the rosary before the English Mass and Latin Mass and 12:30 p.m Spanish Mass each Sunday. Thanks to all those who are leading the Holy Rosary here at our Church. This coming Wednesday is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and it would be wonderful to see the Church full that day of devout Catholics united in our love of the Mother of God and praying her holy rosary. We have so much to pray for: peace in our world, our country, to end abortion, for the protection of marriage and family life, for the Youth, for the incarcerated, the sick and the dying. We also need to pray for fallen away Catholics, and for our families. Please bring these prayers to Our Holy Mother as you pray her rosary throughout this month of the Holy Rosary. Mother Miriam is planning to give a talk to young mothers and to whomever else wants to hear her on Saturday, October 10th, at Precious Blood Parish here in Tulsa beginning around 9:00 a.m. Anyone is welcome to attend but perhaps it would be good to let Gayle know in our parish office so that organizers will be sure to have enough breakfast and lunch foods available. Father Fasching, our new Associate Pastor, will be here this Friday to take up residence in our parish and to prepare to help meet the demands of our growing community. He celebrates both the traditional Mass as well as the new Mass in English. He will be assisting us with our ministry to the school children, religious ed. students, youth groups, as well as offering confessions and visiting the sick and suffering. His duties might also include visiting the jail and praying for deliverance for people who are being attacked by the devil. Father Festus continues to help us out as well with blessing homes, visiting the sick, assisting the prisoners at Moss Detention, as well as teaching a Bible Study on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Also, Father Oscar helps out during the week. He is forming a new Evangelization Group, strengthening the adoration program, visiting the jail, offering Masses and hearing confessions as well as visiting the Hispanic groups that have now formed in our parish community. It is wonderful to have four priests who are living and working together for the salvation of our people. May God protect and guide us in our sacred ministry. And may He call forth from our community others who will die to themselves and serve Him in the Holy priesthood and in religious life. God bless each and every one of you and let us seek to strengthen our fraternity as well as strive to be holy as God is holy. Favor rezar a San José, San Andrés y a Santo Toribio.
