Parent Involvement
School Volunteers – “We Thank You!”
The month of February is recognized as “School Volunteer Month” by the School District of
Lee County. Last year schools across the district reported that volunteers, including
youth, adults, and seniors donated over 800,000 hours of volunteer service! School
volunteers provide a variety of valuable services.
As a parent, you become a school volunteer by being involved in your child’s education by
asking your child about school and checking homework; attending teacher conferences;
reading with your child; talking with your child’s teachers; and, telling your child you love
them every day! Volunteer service begins at home!

Happy February!
Thanks for all of the support you have provided to your child and the school thus far. This is
the time of year when time flies, so please look carefully at calendars, newsletters and information your child brings home so that you stay informed.
The District is having an event for all parents on 2/18/15 at South Fort Myers High School to
talk about the standards for language arts and math that form the basis for all instruction in
Lee County Schools. It is from 6:30—8:00 pm. I hope to see many of you there.

These coupons are on products purchased
in the grocery store. They can be found
on cereal, plastic wrap, and other
products. Please check your containers
before you throw them out to see if there
are any Box Tops. The class with the most
Box Tops collected each month will win a
popsicle party.

¡GRACIAS a los voluntarios escolares!
El Distrito Escolar del Condado de Lee reconoce al mes de febrero como el “Mes
Nacional de los Voluntarios Escolares.” El año pasado las escuelas a lo largo del
Distrito nos informaron que los voluntarios, incluyendo a los jóvenes, adultos, y
personas mayores donaron ¡más de 800.000 horas de servicio voluntario! Los
voluntarios escolares brindan una valiosa variedad de servicios.
Como padre, usted se hace voluntario escolar al participar en la educación de su hijo/a
cuando le pregunta sobre la escuela, revisa sus tareas; asiste a las conferencias con el
maestro, lee con su hijo/a, habla con los maestros de su hijo/a, y ¡cuando le dice a su
hijo/a todos los días que lo quiere! ¡El servicio de voluntario comienza en el hogar!

Por favor guarde los Box Tops para nuestra
escuela. Nosotros ganamos 10 centavos por
cada box top que colectamos. Estos
cupones están en los productos que se
compran en la tienda. Se encuentran en las
cajas de cereal, papel de envolver plástico,
y otros productos. Por favor cheque sus
cajas y latas antes de tirarlos para ver si
