FAREWELL
FR. MICHAEL CASSABON
I was honored and overwhelmed by the show of support
and affection for me as I said my farewell to all of you at
OLSS. My experience here has made a lasting impression
on my life as a priest and as a person. I will truly miss all of
you and will carry many happy memories with me as I
begin this new chapter in my life. I would also like to
thank everyone who helped with the reception in the
Banquet Hall on Sunday afternoon. I could not have asked
for a better send-off. God bless all of you and thank you for
everything.

4:00 PM SATURDAY MASS
Dear Father Michael Cassabon
Our Irishman with the Norman name
Though farewells must be said today
Our memories of you will stay
Along with all our prayers for you
As off you go to projects new.
Keep pumping iron, for Jesus’ sake
To lift that cross, come Holy Week
And keep that zeal that others caught
During those classes you taught.
You made us laugh and made us learn
You even made some hearts to burn
Like those two on the Emmaus Road.
But this is an envoi, not an ode
So we’ll close with love, Father Cassabon
For the Bishop says we must all move on.
Kitty McDonough

GIVING TREE
The Holy Trinity Catholic School Giving Tree is located in the narthex of the church. The tags on the
tree list items that would be beneficial to Holy Trinity Catholic School as it begins its seventh year of
providing quality, Catholic Education. Along with the item is a donation amount that would cover the
cost of the item listed. If you would like to donate an item, simply put the item amount into the
envelope and drop it in the collection basket or leave it at the church or school offices. In the past
many of you have donated to the school through the Giving Tree and those donations have had a
huge impact on the educational program at the school. The Giving Tree will remain in the narthex
through the Labor Day weekend.

ARE YOU BEING CALLED TO THE MINISTRY OF LECTOR?
Readers of the Word share in a sacred process. Those who are privileged to
read at the liturgy help to present the Word to the assembly.
Our mission entails a great responsibility. At Mass, readers serve as a bridge
between the Scriptures and the faithful.
If you feel you are willing to commit yourself to undertake this sacred ministry
and the spiritual preparation and discipline it takes to enable Scripture to become the Living
Word, prayerfully consider becoming a lector at Our Lady Star of the Sea parish.
If interested in pursuing this ministry further, please call Joanne & Joe Morrone at 843-3991605 or Julia Hungerford at 843-249-3072 for more information.

OLSS DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
HURRICANE SEASON IS HERE
Every year, OLSS tries to identify parishioners who
have no one to help them in the event of an
emergency. If you feel you may need help evacuating to a shelter or
simply need assistance in preparing your home for an impending
disaster (e.g. turning off water, secure windows, secure outdoor
furniture, bring outside items in, etc.) please let us know by calling the
Church office by June 30th. We have volunteers to be a “buddy”.
In addition, we are still looking for a few more volunteers to be
members of the OLSS Disaster Team. If you are interested in helping
parishioners with any of the above, please call Rosie in the Church
office.
Also, it is not too early to start preparing in the event of a hurricane.
Information is readily available from the Chamber of Commerce,
insurance companies, food store info racks, etc. OLSS also has an
information packet, which also lists pet friendly motels in case an
evacuation is necessary. Stop by the office to pick up a copy.

PRAYER AND WORSHIP
WELCOME THE VISITING
MADONNA
While we are encouraged to embrace
Jesus’ cross, perhaps the next best
thing we can do as the faithful is to turn
to
the
Blessed
Mother
for
guidance…”Blessed Mother, please
help me.” As human beings, we can’t do
everything. But the Blessed Mother can
go to her Son Jesus and do wonders.
The Knights of Columbus are offering
intimate prayer devotions in your own
homes to all parishioners so that every
family may experience visitation for one
week from our Visiting Madonna.
Families will begin to experience a sense of peace, quiet and
reflection while saying the Rosary as a family with Our Lady. The
family that prays together stays together. If you are interested in
participating in welcoming the Visiting Madonna, please call Sam
Konrad at (843) 399-7003 or email him at [email protected].
This week, The Visiting Madonna will be presented to

CLASSES WILL RESUME IN THE FALL.
Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora Estrella del Mar
DECIMO PRIMER DOMINGO EN TIEMPO ORDINARIO
PARABOLA DE LA SEMILLA
(Marcos 4,26-34).
Queridos Hermanos:
Nuestra vida
Padre Orlando.

CATEQUESIS PARA ADULTOS (R.I.C.A.)
