RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
The Religious Education Program will be open
from 9:30AM to 1:00PM Monday thru Wednesday
during the summer. We will open Monday nights
again in the second week of August. Please call
429-8824 for more information.
The office will be closed July 13th thru the 24th.
Lastly, we are in need of four, volunteers to
help us teach a 7th grade class. It would be ideal to
have two teachers in a class. Please pray about it,
talk to those who teach religion class. It is such a
wonderful experience to be able to share and
witness your faith to the future of our church.

PASTORAL COUNCIL
Our parish Pastoral Council is planning to add new
members to the Council to begin after the summer in
September. The Pastoral Council works for the ongoing
development of the ministries in our parish. New
members will join with our current council when it meets
for its’ annual year-end review and planning for the
future. Service on the council includes a monthly
meeting from September through June and a few hours
of committee work between the regular meetings each
month. If you would like to serve on the Council, please
speak with Fr. Madden.
MASS WITH COMMUNAL ANOINTING
OF THE SICK
On Saturday, September 19th, at 10AM in
the school gym we will celebrate the
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during
Mass. This will take place in English.

El Programa de Catecismo estará abierto los

CONCILIO PASTORAL
Nuestro Concilio Pastoral está planeando agregar
nuevos miembros para después del verano, en el mes
de Septiembre. El Concilio Pastoral trabaja por el
continuo desarrollo de los ministerios de la parroquia.
Los nuevos miembros se reunirán con los miembros
actuales cuando el concilio se reúna en su reunión
evaluativa y de planeamiento de sus acciones futuras.
Los servicios en el concilio incluyen una reunión
mensual, entre Septiembre y Junio y varias horas de
trabajo de los comités entre una y otra reunión mensual.
Si le gustase servir en el concilio, favor de hablar con el
Padre Madden.

PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS
The plight of Christians around the
world, especially in the Middle East, has
become a major catastrophe. Massive
numbers of Christians are being subjected
to violence, displacement, and even death,
explicitly because of their faith. Yet there is
little attention being paid in the West, and
few governments are saying anything in
response. However far way, we are still
impacted by the sufferings of our fellow
Christians; we are all one human family.
Catholic social teaching calls us to stand in
solidarity. The Middle East is the birthplace
of Christianity; it is the land of Jesus’ life,
death, and resurrection. It’s time to take

CHURCH WINDOWS
The ventilator windows in our church have
been removed to repair broken pieces, to clean
them, to replace the lead lining in the windows and
the place them in new steel frames. The total cost
of this work is $32,000. The work will be completed
in two months. We have $20,000 set aside for this
work. We are asking our parishioners for $12,000
to complete the work. Our Finance Council and
Pastoral Council have agreed about the need to do
this project and other projects: paint the church
exterior; repair the roof of the school gymnasium;
replace the air conditioner on the school gym roof;
pave the large school parking lot. As each project
begins our parishioners will be asked to help
support the work.
At the entrance of the church there are special
envelopes for donations to help repair our church
windows. Envelopes may be returned in the
Sunday collection or sent to the rectory office.

PARISH SECRETARY/BOOKKEEPER NEEDED
AT SGB St. Gregory Barbarigo is seeking a full-time
secretary and bookkeeper from 9:00 AM to 4:00PM each
weekday at its parish offices. Telephone,
communication, interpersonal and organizational skills,
computer/knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Word
Perfect, and be willing to learn the new ConnectNow
bookkeeping program; have a friendly, welcoming
personality and a desire to help people who come to us
for service. Must be capable of honoring matters of strict
confidentiality, and display prudence and tact when

VENTANAS DE LA IGLESIA
Las ventanas del ventilador en nuestra
iglesia han sido removidas para reparar
algunas piezas rotas, para limpiarlas, para
reemplazar y colocar las ventanas
nuevamente con un encuadrado de acero. El
costo total de este trabajo es de $32,000. El
trabajo será completado en dos meses.
Tenemos $20,000 disponibles para este
trabajo. Estamos solicitando a nuestros
feligreses que contribuyan con $12,000, para
completar el trabajo.
Nuestro Consejo
Financiero y nuestro Concilio Parroquial han
estado de acuerdo sobre la necesidad de
realizar este proyecto y otros proyectos: Tales
como pintar el exterior de la iglesia; reparar el
techo del gimnasio de la escuela; reemplazar
el aire acondicionado del techo del gimnasio;
pavimentar el estacionamiento grande de la
escuela. Al comenzar cada proyecto
solicitaremos a nuestros feligreses de su
cooperación para la realización de los trabajos.
En la entrada de la iglesia hay sobres
especiales por las donaciones para reparar
nuestras ventanas en la iglesia. Los sobres
pueden ser devueltos en la colecta de los
domingos o ser enviados a la oficina de la
