ARE YOU MOVING?
If you will be moving over the Winter Break, you will need to provide
updated Proof of Residency so your address can be changed.
If your move takes you out of the Plano School District, and your child will
not be returning to Otto Middle School after the Winter Break in January,
you will need to sign a Withdrawal Form prior to December 18, 2015.
Please contact Christi Van Laere in the Counseling Office as soon as possible regarding your address change, or the need to withdraw your student.

We are excited to announce that December marks the
beginning of AVID Recruitment time. AVID is a college
preparatory program designed to help those students who
are “in the middle”. The AVID curriculum is a rigorous
curriculum designed to help students
focus on and achieve their goals.
Each will be enrolled in at least one honors class.
The typical AVID candidate makes passing grades
and does well on standardized tests.
However, for any of a variety of reasons, this student is
scoring in the 75 – 85 range in most classes.
In the AVID elective class, this student will be
given support by outside AVID trained tutors.
Study skills lessons designed to boost their
performance will be another focus.
AVID students will also be exposed to motivational
speakers and attend field trips
designed to motivate them.
