PRAYER REQUESTS
CHRISTMAS IN GRECCIO IS HERE!
Friday: December 18th
7:00 PM
In the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Lucie Parish presents
the meaning of the Christmas crèche and the joy of Jesus’
birth some two thousand years ago. The festivities begin
outdoors at 7:00 PM with a play followed by fellowship in the
Parish Hall with special treats.
PROPER PLACEMENT OF PEW MISSALS
The proper storage of our pew missals might seem trivial
but it does make a difference in the life of the missal and
cover. With the volume required to fill our church, these
items are expensive. Thank you for remembering to
stow your books properly and share this news with your
pew neighbors. Please stow the missals with the binder
to the bottom of the pew bin. This will prolong the life of
the missal and cover case (which has been donated by
Aycock Funeral Homes).

We are grateful that the white pew envelopes are
being used for those who forget their offertory
envelopes but for new parishioners requesting “I want
to register” located on the envelope, please provide a
legible phone number in addition to your name(s) and
address so that you may be contacted. Be sure to
PRINT. We do our best to contact you to complete
your registration. Sometimes we begin this process
and send you the paperwork to complete and return to
us. If you receive such paperwork, PLEASE return it
to the Parish Office or drop it in to any offertory
basket.
The deadline for bringing your wrapped Christmas
gift with the paper wish ornament attached is this
Tuesday, December 15th. Gifts should arrive at the
parish Office: 425 SW Irving Street by Noon.
Thank you for your kindness in providing for this
year’s Christmas gifts for those in need within our
church community.
Every year each of us secretly wishes that there would
no longer be a need for such a ministry, but reality
shows us that the need continues to grow. It would be
hard not to be able to provide a piece of joy for a little
one anticipating something special on Christmas
morning. Giving something to a senior living on a
meager subsistence means the world to them,
especially when this something is in the form of a
grocery gift card. And providing diapers or formula to
a mother in need is a godsend. So many families,
single parents and grandparents are reliant on our
generosity. What you don’t see is their reluctance to
ask for help or their gratefulness in accepting
something beyond their hopes. Those of you who
were able to provide extra joy, we thank you. May our
Lord continue to bless you and your familiy.
Use of a pew envelope does not mean you are
necessarily registered, even if you use them often. If
a donor wants contributions to be recorded, they
need to be posted to an account number that belongs
to the donor. If there is a question regarding your
registration status, please phone the Parish Office at
878-1215 and we will be glad to check!
CHURCH CARE NEEDED
We are in need of ladies to wash altar linen two to
three times a year, depending on how many we have
to volunteer. Phone Jackie Buccola at 879-4847.

CHURCH CHAPEL/CHILDREN’S CHAPEL
Anointing of the Sick
When you come to church you may sit wherever you
like. However, for the weekend liturgies, we do
encourage families with small children to use the
chapel if the kids will be kids and may disturb others
sitting near them. So… if you don’t want to hear little
toddlers’ voices or fussy babies during mass, please sit
in the main body of the church. If you are in the main
body with kids who might be disturbing others, please
take advantage of the chapel. Thanks, we want to
make everyone feel welcome.
Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, 11:00 AM
The Sacrament of Anointing is the embodiment of
the church’s prayer for healing. It is meant for all
who are considered seriously ill such as:
■ those suffering from a physical ailment,
■ those who suffer from a serious mental or
emotional conditions,
■ those in need of spiritual healing,
Christmas Book Giveaway
This Christmas, through the
generosity
of
Dynamic
Catholic
and
Aycock
Funeral Homes, we will be
giving each family who
attends mass a copy of
Matthew Kelly’s new book,
Rediscover Jesus.
As
Matthew Kelly states in his
introduction to the book, the
book is simply intended to
help us come to know Jesus
better. The book is divided
into forty short chapters and
can be read immediately, or it could be saved for a
Lenten reflection. Lent starts early this coming year.
Ash Wednesday is February 10th. Closer to Lent a
calendar will be printed in our bulletin that suggests
reading a chapter a day. If we all read a chapter a
day, the same chapter, it may provide material for
discussion groups and family gatherings. We hope
we have enough books for one copy per family and
ask that you take only one. We are grateful that
Dynamic Catholic and Aycock Funeral Homes have
provided us with these books, and hope that they will
help all of us grow in our relationship and knowledge
of Jesus. Merry Christmas!
■ those preparing for serious surgery in the near
future,
■ children who are seriously ill and have reached
the age of reason, able to understand the
sacrament,
■ those who are elderly, even though no
dangerous illness appear present.
If you plan to receive this Sacrament, please
arrive early for Mass so that you may register for
the Sacrament of Anointing. The following form
will need to be completed so that your information
is correctly entered in the Church Sacramental
Record Book.
Please Print and bring this
clip with you to the Mass. A reception will
follow the Mass in the Parish Hall.

POOR CLARE NUNS
The nuns of the Poor Clare Monastery in Delray
Beach have agreed to pray for our intentions. Cards
are located on the tables in the back of the church. If
you have a special intention, please complete one of
these cards and put it in the collection basket or give
it to one of the friars. Every two weeks or so these
cards will be sent to the nuns who will pray for our
special intentions. The Poor Clare Nuns, as you
probably know, are the contemplative order of
Franciscan nuns named after St. Clare of Assisi.

Programa “Árbol de Navidad”
Ultimo día para de entrega
Martes 15 de diciembre
Si están participando en este
programa, les recordamos que la
fecha límite para entregar los
regalos de Navidad en la oficina
es el mediodía del martes 15 de
diciembre.
regalo. ¡Gracias por su cooperación!

Servicio de Penitencia en Comunidad
Sábado 19 de diciembre
2:00 PM a 3:30 PM - Confesiones

Dios.
Jueves 31 de Diciembre - 4:00 PM
Viernes 1º de Enero - 7:30 AM y 9:30 AM
11:30 AM - Misa en Español
3. Propósito de no volver a pecar: Si verdaderamente
amo, no puedo seguir lastimando al amado. De nada sirve
confesarnos si no queremos mejorar.
favorita, o compren galletas surtidas.
