Uno de los niños del Catecismo lloraba hace unos días por no saber una sencilla oración. Al querer consolarlo, dijo: “¡es
que mi mamá nunca tiene tiempo para mí!” Y me quedé pensando en este cuento: La noche había caído ya; sin embargo, un
pequeño hacía grandes esfuerzos por no quedarse dormido. El motivo bien valía la pena; estaba esperando a su papá. Los
traviesos ojos iban cayendo pesadamente cuando se abrió la puerta. El n iño se incorporó como impulsado por un resorte y soltó la
pregunta que lo tenía tan inquieto: — Papá ¿cuánto ganas por hora?... — d ijo con ojos muy abiertos.
Su padre entre molesto y cansado, fue tan tajante en su respuesta: — Mira hijo, eso ni siquiera tu madre lo sabe, no me
mo lestes y vete a dormir que ya es tarde. — Si papa, pero por favor solo dime, ¿cuánto te pagan por una hora de trabajo? —
reiteró suplicante el niño. Contrariado, el padre apenas abrió la boca para decir: — Diez dólares. — Oye papá, ¿Me podrías
prestar dos dólares? , preguntó el pequeño. El padre se enfureció y to mó al pequeño del brazo y en tono brusco le dijo: — Así q ue
por eso quieres saber cuánto gano ¿no?, vete a dormir y no sigas fastidiando chico aprovechado. El n iño se alejó t ímidamente, al
med itar lo sucedido el padre comen zó a sentirse culpable. Tal vez necesita algo, pensó, y queriendo descargar su conciencia s e
asomó al cuarto de su hijo. Con voz suave le preguntó: ¿Duermes hijo? — No papá; dime, respondió entre sueños.
— Aquí tienes el dinero que me pediste. Gracias papá, susurró el niño mientras met ía su manita debajo de la almohada de

and 8th and November 14th and 15th in the
vestibule. The wreaths are 24” for $25.00 each.
They will be available for pick the weekend

22nd. This fundraiser will go toward helping
support our Seminarians.
