MINISTRIES, EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS MINISTERIO EN ESPAÑOL ADULT FORMATION Primer Domingo de Adviento First Sunday of Advent LA VENIDA DEL REINO Gospel: Luke 21:25-28, 34-36 Adults: What have been the strengths of your prayer life? What habit of prayer could you strengthen during this Advent season? Children: What prayers will you say each day and each week during Advent? Copyright © J. S. Please take an angel tag (or more) from one of the two Advent Angel Trees located at the front and the west entrances of the church. The tag will provide the name of the child, age, toy request, and clothing item with size. Please return the wrapped gift with the angel tag (we won’t know who the gift will belong to without it) and place under either angel tree. Gifts will be delivered to the Advent Angel Tree families in early December by church volunteers. In the document declaring this Holy Year, Pope Francis reminds us that it will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council (and I was in Rome for that event as a theology student): “The walls which for too long had made the Church a kind of fortress were torn down and the time had come to proclaim the Gospel in a new way.” (#4).
