We close the Christmas Season today with this feast
day of the Baptism of the Lord. We listen to the words
of the Father: “You are my Beloved Son... “The rest of
the year we will watch Jesus in action through the eyes
of the Gospel of Mark. The Beloved Son of God will
bring God’s message of love to the people. May that
message grip our hearts with special fervor this year.

del Bautismo del Señor. Escuchamos las palabras del
Padre: "Tú eres mi Hijo amado..." El resto del año
veremos a Jesús en acción a través de los ojos del
Evangelio de Marcos. El Hijo Amado de Dios traerá el mensaje del amor de Dios al Pueblo. ¡Qué ese mensaje
agarre nuestros corazones con un fervor especial este año.

commitment to support the parish financially with a
certain amount every week or month beginning in

commitment, please do so today as we all share the
financial responsibility of our parish home.

Jesuit History at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church
This is an early seal of the Jesuits duplicated on the walls of our church. Here are what the elements mean: the rays of
the sun represent how Jesus is the light of the world that extends everywhere. The IHS are the first three letters of
Jesus’ name in Greek and so the heart of the seal is the Name of Jesus. That is the
case because the Jesuits took Jesus’ name as their own and are officially known as
the Society of Jesus or la Compañía de Jesús. The Cross represents Jesus’ death as do
the three nails for the three nails that they drove into his body. Whenever you see
this seal remember how the name of Jesus should be carried very close to our hearts.
La Historia de los Jesuitas en Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
Esto es un sello a de los principios de los jesuitas que se ha duplicado en las paredes
de nuestra iglesia. Este es su significado: los rayos del sol representan cómo Jesús es la
luz del mundo, que se extiende por todas partes. El IHS son las tres primeras letras
del nombre de Jesús en griego y así el corazón del sello es el Nombre de Jesús. Este es
el caso, porque los jesuitas tomaron el nombre de Jesús y se conocen oficialmente
como la Compañía de Jesús. La cruz representa la muerte de Jesús así cómo los tres clavos que fueron clavados a su
cuerpo. Siempre que vea este sello recuerde quel nombre de Jesús debe llevarse en nuestros corazones .

invita a estudiar temas bíblicos los jueves de
7:15 a 9pm en Salón Tepeyac.
El programa Fe en Acción brinda clases
educativas y gratuitas sobre los tipos de cáncer,
su prevención y recursos en la comunidad los
miércoles a las 6:00 pm en Casa Loyola con
Laura Zacarías o los jueves a las 8:30 am en el
Salón Tepeyac con Velma Calvario.
El Grupo de Matrimonios los invita todos los
lunes de 7pm a 9pm a sus alabanzas, oración,
meditación de la lectura del día y también
reflexión.

The Stations of the Birth of Christ
Las Estaciones del Nacimiento de Cristo
Until February 2nd (The Purification in the
Temple 40 days after the birth of Christ) our
church will celebrate the 14 stations of the Birth
of Christ. The stations will be in the church and
the guides will be in a container on the altar
rail. Please use them to pray the stations, then
return them to their container so that another
person can use them. May these stations help us
to remember those very special moments in the
life of Christ.
