Forty (40) Days for Life: Sept. 25 – Nov. 2
40 Days for Life is a 40-day vigil outside a Planned Parenthood center or

reality of abortion. It also serves as a call to repentance for those who
work at the abortion center and those who patronize the facility. The 40
Days for Life-Dallas Prayer Vigil will be from 6AM to 6PM, 7 days a
week, for 40 Days from September 25 through November 2 at the new
Planned Parenthood abortion center at 7989 W Virginia Dr, Dallas, TX

Formación de Fe
CRISTO RENUEVA SU PARROQUIA
Hombres Nov 8-9 Mujeres feb 7-8

ELEMENTARY FAITH FORMATION /
Youth & Young Adult Ministries
Ministerio de Jóvenes y Jóvenes adultos
FORMACION DE FE: 972-423-4715
One recent Sunday, I had the privilege of being a substitute in a
third grade faith formation class. All the children were able to
recite the Our Father and Hail Mary, most impressive! I then
asked the children to raise their hand if they had already attended Mass that morning. Two out of seventeen children raised
their hands. Then as the saying goes “out of the mouth of babes”
the other children said “we don’t go to Mass.” So sad, these very
children celebrated the Sacrament of First Eucharist last May,
but they don’t attend Mass. How can we as catechists help the
children grow in their faith if they are not attending Mass? What
is the point in teaching the Ten Commandments, or exchanging
experiences and thoughts related to the Gospel? What is the
point in teaching about the graces we receive after going to
Communion or practicing songs that we sing during Mass? My
prayer after class was: “Dear Lord, please guide these children
and their families to the doors of your church so that they can
listen to your words and receive the many graces around us. May
we as parents be reminded of the promises we made at our
child’s Baptism and remember to “Keep Holy the Sabbath” with
our children by our sides.

An excerpt from the Baptismal Rite:
You have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so you are
accepting the responsibility of training him (her) in the practice of
the faith. It will be your duty to bring him (her) up to keep God's
commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our
neighbor. Dearly beloved, this child has been reborn in baptism.
He (she) is now called the child of God, for so indeed he (she) is.
In confirmation he (she) will receive the fullness of God's Spirit. In
holy communion he (she) will share the banquet of Christ's
sacrifice, calling God his (her) Father in the midst of the Church.
In the name of this child, in the Spirit of our common sonship, let
us pray together in the words our Lord has given us: Do you
clearly understand what you are undertaking?

PLEASE HELP OUR NEIGHBORS
Black Bag Collection : THIS WEEKEND
The volume of requests from those needing assistance in Plano
due to unemployment, underemployment, health issues and
homelessness has greatly increased in the last several months.
SVdP solicits your help to meet the increased need.
In the last three months, we have helped 219 families, assisting
644 persons and distributing $35,918 to the needy in our local
community for shelter and utility assistance.
October 19th is World Mission Sunday!
This year we are invited to reach out and help
build the Church in Mongolia, the world’s youngest
Catholic Church, as well as local churches throughout the Missions, in the most remote areas across
our world. Through the work of these churches,
and their witness to Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience God’s love and mercy, His hope and
peace. Please keep the Missions in your daily prayers. Please
come prepared next weekend to give generously in the collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. For more
information, please visit www.IAmAMissionary.org
The St. Vincent de Paul Black Bag Collection is the weekend of
October 12th. The Black Bags will be passed around immediately
following the regular collection during the offertory portion of
the Mass.
The St. Mark Conference provides direct assistance for basic services to the most needy within our parish community. This mission is 100% funded by parishioner contributions and 100% of
contributions go directly to those in need.
If you miss the second collection opportunity, please feel free to
place your donation in the Poor Box. Your continuing generosity
to this shared mission is greatly appreciated.
