SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF OUR CONFESSIONALS
In October 2012, after much effort and great generosity from many, many people, Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted blessed our new confessionals here
at our parish. It was hard to imagine then the outpouring of grace and mercy which was to be unleashed at Saint Anne. From the beginning, so
many people have come to confession to experience the love of our God, who forgives all of our sins with joy when we approach Him with humility
and repentance in this beautiful sacrament.
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who made this project possible: our bishop, the volunteers, members of our parish
councils and committees, donors, and those who prayed, so that we would have confessionals whose simple beauty invites anyone to confidently
approach Jesus, who came into the world not to call the righteous, but sinners. I especially want to thank God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who
blessed our project from the beginning and whose blessing has spilled forth into the hearts of so many people.
The confessionals speak of the beauty of God's forgiveness. The image of the Good Shepherd, his compassionate and merciful glance, reminds
us that Jesus is always waiting for us, seeking us in the sacrament of confession, and that His love is always greater than our misery. The
inscription on the arch, "With eternal love I have loved you, with mercy I have drawn you to myself.” (Jeremiah 31:3), invites us to have an infinite
trust in God who loved us even before we existed and who draws us with his mercy to return to Him with joy.
It is beautiful to see how other parishes in the diocese, following in the footsteps of Saint Anne, have built new confessionals and expanded their
confession schedules, providing increasing opportunities for penitents who wish to reconcile with God and grow in the way of holiness. I pray that
God will continue to increase the availability of priests to administer this sacrament, as is called for by the Church in the voice of our popes and
bishops.
May our confessionals continue to quietly speak of the importance of this sacrament which is necessary for salvation and the sanctification of the
Christian people. The New Evangelization begins in the confessional. Confession is a school of humility and holiness. God grant that all may grow
in a greater appreciation of this fountain of mercy and that, in the frequent reception of this sacrament, we may unite more closely to Jesus, healer
of souls and center of all Christian life.

II ANIVERSARIO DE NUESTROS CONFESONARIOS
En el mes de octubre de 2012, después de muchos esfuerzos y de mucha generosidad por parte de tantas y tantas personas, el Sr. Obispo
Thomas J. Olmsted bendijo los nuevos confesonarios de nuestra parroquia. Era difícil poder imaginar entonces la efusión de gracia y de
misericordia que iba a desatarse a partir de entonces en santa Ana. Desde el principio, fueron muchas las personas que se acercaron a la
Confesión para experimentar el amor de Dios que perdona con alegría todos nuestros pecados cuando nos acercamos a Él, humildes y
arrepentidos, a este hermoso Sacramento.
Me siento en el deber de expresar mi más vivo agradecimiento a todas las personas que hicieron posible este proyecto: al Sr. Obispo, los
voluntarios, miembros de Consejos y Comités parroquiales, donantes y aquellos que oraron para que pudiéramos contar con unos confesonarios
que son tan hermosos y que invitan, en esa sencilla belleza, a acercarse con confianza a Jesús, que vino al mundo no para llamar a los justos,
sino a los pecadores. Especialmente, quiero dar gracias a Dios, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, que bendijo nuestro proyecto desde sus inicios y que
se ha derramado con tanta abundancia desde entonces en el corazón de tantas y tantas personas.
Los confesonarios hablan de la belleza del perdón de Dios. La imagen del Buen Pastor, su mirada compasiva y misericordiosa, nos recuerda que
Jesús siempre nos está esperando, que Él mismo nos busca y nos recupera en el Sacramento de la Confesión, y que su amor es siempre más
grande que nuestras miserias. La inscripción del arco (“Con amor eterno te amé, con misericordia te he atraído hacia mí”), tomada del libro del
profeta Jeremías, nos invita a la confianza infinita en un Dios que nos amó incluso antes de que existiéramos, y que nos seduce con su
misericordia para que volvamos a Él con alegría.
Es hermoso ver cómo otras parroquias de la diócesis, siguiendo la estela de santa Ana, han construido nuevos confesonarios y, poco a poco, han
ido ampliando los horarios de confesiones, ofreciendo más posibilidades a los penitentes que desean reconciliarse con Dios y crecer en el camino
de la santidad. Ruego a Dios para que siga aumentando la disponibilidad de los sacerdotes en la administración de este sacramento, según lo que
nos pide la Iglesia, en la persona de los Papas y de nuestros obispos.
Que nuestros confesonarios sigan hablando, silenciosamente, de la importancia de este Sacramento, necesario para la salvación y la santificación
del Pueblo cristiano. La Nueva Evangelización comienza en el confesonario. La Confesión es escuela de humildad y de santidad. Quiera Dios que
crezcamos todos en un mayor aprecio de esta fuente de misericordia y que, por la recepción frecuente de este sacramento, nos unamos más
íntimamente a Jesús, médico de las almas y centro de toda vida cristiana.

St. Anne is blessed to have a Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel
that is opened 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Most parishes do not
have Perpetual Adoration as we do. A parish of our size should
easily be able to fill all 168 hours of Adoration
each week, yet sadly we have over 20 hours
with no scheduled adorer. A scheduled adorer
will stay in the Chapel with Our Lord in the
Blessed Sacrament the entire hour and leave
when the next adorer arrives.
Ideally, there would be 2 adorers for every hour.
Despite having so many visitors, unless we
have a scheduled adorer the Chapel can be
empty leaving Our Lord alone. This cannot
happen. I invite all of you to share your week
with Jesus Christ!
Come to the Adoration Chapel and spend an hour with Him. He waits
for YOU. You will find peace and comfort in a very busy world and
experience a change in your relationship with Our Lord and the
Blessed Mother. Guaranteed! It takes an open heart and your “yes”.

One of our long-time parishioners, Rick Nevins, has
completed the diaconate program and will be ordained a
deacon of the Diocese of Phoenix by Bishop Thomas J.
Olmsted on November 8th. On Sunday, November 9th, Deacon Rick will serve at the 11am High Mass and be officially
installed as a deacon for our parish. A social in the parish
hall will follow Mass. After ordination, Deacon Rick will continue to
serve here in our St. Anne community.
Rick and his wife, Liliana, have been married for 30 years and are the
proud parents of five children, Paul, Ricky, Sarah, Michael and
Matthew. Rick serves as the MC at the Sunday High Mass and is
involved in the Altar Server ministry. After ordination, Deacon Rick
will also serve in the Maricopa Integrated Health System Chaplaincy
program. Both he and Liliana have served in RCIA.
Our Director of Parish Administration, Andrew Gilliland, has
completed diaconate formation and will also be ordained with Rick
Nevins and 6 other men from the Diocese of Phoenix on November
8th. Andrew will continue to serve our community as the Director of
Parish Administration. He will be assigned to Resurrection Catholic
Church in Tempe. Andrew is the Coordinator for Ministry of Care and
oversees the formation of the Altar Servers Guild at Resurrection
Parish. He will also be serving along side Rick at Maricopa Integrated
Health System. Andrew and Jessica have been married for 13 years
and have three children, Hadrien, Liam, and Simon, and are
expecting their fourth child in April 2015

St. Anne Parish will participate in
40 Days for Life September 24 - November 2
by praying each Thursday, 6 am - 6 pm, at the
Chandler Planned Parenthood, 610 N. Alma School
Road, Chandler. We are looking for at least 2 people to cover each
hour. Please call Genny Jones, 480-201-7198, to make your
commitment to pray or for more info. If you can't make a commitment,
you are welcome to pray there whenever you can on any day of the
week.

Our sick and homebound parishioners NEED YOU!
The mission of the Ministry of Care is to bring Jesus in the Holy
Eucharist to our Parishioners who are homebound, hospitalized,
in care facilities or in hospice. We also serve in jails and prisons.
Training sessions will be held on Nov. 22, 29 and Dec. 6 from 8:00
am until noon. You must be 18 years old and a registered parishioner
for one year in order to serve.

resource center offering compassionate

is an easy way to make a difference for mothers, fathers and their
babies! Just take a baby bottle home, fill it with coins or a check payable to Aid to Women Center and return your filled baby bottle on
