Our Parish’s next date to work at the St. Vincent de Paul Distribution Center is on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. This is a great way to “give thanks to God for his faithfulness.” PLEASE join us at 1201 E. Maryland at 8:00 am to be Christ’s presence to struggling families in Indianapolis. Call Larry Heil at 657-7093 if you have questions. Dear Friends of Holy Spirit, Each year in early November we are asked to review our support to our parish of Holy Spirit and to our Archdiocese. As a member of the church, we accept this responsibility realizing that each of us should contribute according to our ability. I ask you to please take this process seriously. Each year the Archdiocese sets a goal for each parish, based upon their income (our goal is $134,000). For the last several years we have failed to reach this goal by about $20,000. I am asking everyone to consider a gift to the Archdiocese (large or small) and to agree upon a regular gift to the parish, either weekly or monthly. Don’t forget the option of automatic gift giving through the use of our online giving website www.holyspirit-indy.org. For the last four years, I have asked you to share with me stories of faith. These have been used as a basis for the Ministry Day in February-March. This year we are looking at the Lenten theme of “Through the Cross to the Resurrection.” My first question is: “When have you gone through something very difficult that led to something very good?” If you could share your stories with me by either e-mailing them ([email protected]) or mailing them to 7243 E. 10th St., Indianapolis, 46219. You may have noticed that there is no water in the new baptistry. We are still searching out a small leak in the system. During the month of November the construction people will be seeking to find and seal the link. Hopefully, all will be fixed by Thanksgiving. Even without water, we are able to do infant Baptisms in the upper pool.
