Prayer Intentions of Pope Francis
February 2015
Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the
practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods
before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which
begins on Ash Wednesday. The day is sometimes referred
to as Shrove Tuesday, from the word shrive, meaning
"confess."
Universal: Prisoners. That prisoners, especially the
young, may be able to rebuild lives of dignity.
In celebration of Mardi Gras, on Tuesday, after the
8:30 a.m. Mass, Fr. Daly will provide refreshments in the
Rectory. Join us!

World Meeting of Families
The Lenten Season
The season of Lent begins this
week. It is time to start thinking
of what you are going to resolve
to do. Do you need to be more
prayerful, more generous or more
forgiving; can you reconcile with
someone? The point is to grow
spiritually. So, if you don't pray
enough, don't just give up dessert
- set aside time for prayer each
day.

who are separated may find welcome and support the
Christian community.
This gathering will take place this coming September
with Pope Francis presiding. We all look forward to celebrating with him The Joy of Christ...The Family’s Hope.
All of us as individuals and as families have the opportunity to prepare for this event. First we need to get to
know Jesus better. How about reading the Gospels and
speaking to Him in prayer. Secondly, we need to experience His love more deeply. How about reflecting on all
He has done for us. After we do these two things, we
have a lot to share with others about Jesus!

curar, predicar y llamar a los pecadores a la conversión;
No escojamos
