The PAI Vision To bring people together who are passionate about photography The PAI Mission To grow PAI, to share the joy of photography while building camaraderie and inspiring creativity. A Message from our President Dear PAI Members, The dreidel is put away for another year and Christmas Season, the entire 3 months of it, is done. All that torn wrapping paper is in the recycle, along with some of the gifts. The needles on that once fresh tree have found their way into the bottoms of your bare feet and all those outdoor decorations that looked great in December seem a bit sad in the middle of January! It means only one thing... it's a new year and the New Year is a time to take stock, celebrate accomplishments, ponder possibilities of things yet to be done and look toward a better future. How many weeks, days, hours will it take for all those New Year's resolutions to fall by the wayside, and just how far into January can people still wish you a happy New Year? HAPPY NEW YEAR. !!!! And besides all that, April is only three months away! Don't miss the January 29, 2015 PAI Viviane Moos photography presentation. Viviane writes: As a photojournalist with the ability to create a genuine connection with people, my work is my passion and my passion is telling stories about the world we live in. Raised in Brazil and Europe and traveling since childhood, I became a photographer so that I could share the way I see the world; using my camera as a communication tool, my heart, my eye and my experience guide me. Better than speaking about my work, allow me to share the words of two noted colleagues: "Viviane Moos takes you down the street less traveled by showing images from her "Brazilian Street Diary" a brilliant account of child street gangs in Brazil she shot over 21 years ago. Shot in the tradition of Bresson’s gritty black and white, Viviane documented a much different world than the typical North American street photographer could capture. Passion, evocative, and emotional are just three words to describe the project of this acclaimed journalist. -- David Brommer, Photographer & B&H Event Space Director "Viviane Moos' photography provides an x-ray of society's soul." -- Peter Mann, international coordinator World Hunger Year/Harry Chapin Media Awards Please come meet Viviane Moos on January 29, 2015, and hear in her own words her deep conviction that nothing is impossible. !!
