Virkon® Professional has been independently proven to kill bacteria and fungi in less than five minutes and Canine Parvovirus in ten minutes or less (at a 1:100 dilution rate), and is DEFRA approved for; Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) Orders, The Diseases of Poultry Orders, Swine Vesicular Disease Orders and General Orders. Its powerful oxidative formula is not only highly effective at killing disease-causing pathogens, it also benefits from the inclusion of a anionic surfactant to aid in the cleaning process thus enhancing biocidal effectiveness, and a subtle lemon fragrance for a fresh clean smell. The oxygen-based chemistry of Virkon® Professional contains simple organic salts and organic acids and the active ingredient decomposes by a variety of routes within the environment, in soil and water, breaking down to form the naturally occurring substances, potassium salts and oxygen. The major organic components are classified as readily biodegradable according to OECD and EU tests. Virkon® Professional offers veterinary surgeries a highly convenient multipurpose biosecurity system all in one pack for; floors, surfaces, equipment (non-medical), feeding and drinking bowls, vehicles and on-farm footwear. Task Dilution Rate Application Hard surface disinfection 1:100 (10 grams of Virkon® Professional to every 1 litre of water) Apply disinfectant solution using a floor mop, cloth, sponge or via a trigger spray bottle. Equipment disinfection (Not medical devices) 1:100 (10 grams of Virkon® Professional to every 1 litre of water) Equipment can either be submerged and washed in disinfectant solution or sprayed and then wiped clean with a cloth or sponge. Rinse disinfected equipment with clean water after 10 minutes when materials compatibility is of concern. Disinfectant foot dips (Surgery & Farm Visits) 1:100 (10 grams of Virkon® Professional to every 1 litre of water) Place boot in foot dip and scrub using a brush making sure the whole boot is washed thoroughly paying particular attention to the sole. Once soiled, replenish the disinfectant solution. Vehicle Disinfection 1:200 (5 grams of Virkon® Professional to every 1 litre of water) Apply disinfectant solution to all vehicle surfaces, starting at the top and working downward, paying particular attention to wheels, wheel arches, mudguards and underside of vehicle. Available in both easy-to-use and store 1Kg and 2.5Kg packs and 5g & 50g effervescent tablet form, Virkon® Professional should be prepared and used at a standard 1:100 dilution rate, 10 grams of disinfectant powder to every 1 litre of water, or one 5g tablet in a 500ml trigger spray bottle.
