We will choose your contestant number and receive all instructions on paperwork and platform. You are welcome to bring your mother or another guest to the Orientation Tea. This is a mandatory meeting. The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM **We do not charge an entry fee. However you are required to give us $50.00 to hold until the end of the pageant. (Cash or check). That is in case you should drop out after the pageant photographs have been taken. That will cover the cost of the photos. You will receive an 8x10 photo as a gift from the city. Your check will be shredded after the pageant is completed. For your information: The Orientation Tea will be held on February 7, 2015 at the Jacobs Senior Center (behind the Post Office). It will begin at 10:00 and end at 12:00. A light brunch will be served. Please bring your mother, dad or a friend. You may also bring your hostess if you would like. You can start arriving at 9:45am ON ARRIVAL AT THE TEA YOU WILL HAVE YOUR PHOTO TAKEN FOR THE PAGEANT. DRESS ACCORDINGLY! A NICE SWEATER OR SHIRT or DRESS… It will be a head shot. Be sure your hair and makeup are ready to go as you arrive. The photo will be taken by Chad @ Faces Photography - the official Photographer for the Miss Utah Pageant. You will be required to have a hostess to help you with your preparations. It may be a friend, sister or aunt… but not your mom. Please contact Betty Memmott at (801) 785-3050 if you have any questions. The hostess is not required to attend all the workshops but it is helpful to have her there. She will need to be there for dress rehearsal and talent day and mock interview! The Miss Pleasant Grove Scholarship Pageant will be held on March 14, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove High School Auditorium. It will begin at 7:00 PM Dress Rehearsal will be the evening before. Dress Rehearsal is mandatory. It will begin at 5:00 pm. **We do not charge an entry fee. However you are required to give us $50.00 to hold until the end of the pageant. (Cash or check). That is in case you should drop out after the pageant photographs have been taken. That will cover the cost of the photos. You will receive an 8x10 photo as a gift from the city. Your check will be shredded after the pageant is completed. We will try to keep the cost down for you. I don’t ever want money to be a requirement for entering the pageant. You will need the following wardrobe items: Interview a Dress- or skirt and top… Evening gown Swimsuit (one piece) Production number outfit…to be announced. Talent costume You will need a 90 second performing talent. Dance – musical instrument- vocal solo – dramatic reading etc. Please call me if you have any questions. You will be required to provide any accompaniment music on a CD. You are allowed only one prop on stage. We do not do video’s on stage during talents. **As a requirement of the Miss America Pageant System you are required to register with Miss America 4 Kids. You will be required to earn $100.00 in donations from friends and family as a prerequisite to competing for Miss Pleasant Grove. It is very simple. You will register on line at www.missamerica4kids.com. It will guide you through the steps that are required. Then send emails to everyone that you know. I am sure they will be glad to donate to help you. This has never been an issue for anyone in the past. It is really very simple. This is the only monetary requirement for Miss Pleasant Grove. When you register… PUT THE PAGEANT DATE AS APRIL 5, 2015!! (NOT MARCH 14, 2015) Call me if you have any questions! This is a requirement and I have to give a copy to Miss Utah the week before our pageant. To be in the Royalty you must have accomplished this. There will be a $250.00 scholarship given to the contestant that raises the most money for CMN. We will be having workshops each Saturday in Feb and Mar. They will be held at the PG Rec Center from 9-11. Feb 14th – Feb 21st – Feb28th - March 7th - Mock Interview evening TBA. (This will be held at the City Council Chamber.) These are held to help you! We will do our best to help you feel confidant and prepared! I do a lot of communicating on Facebook and by text.
