Miss Cape May County and Miss Cape Resort Pageants
Information and Pre-Application
Thank you for your interest in these scholarship pageants. They will be held on Friday, July 10th, 2015, on the
Ocean City Music Pier with rehearsals several nights the week before. A mandatory orientation will be held on Wed.
evening, June 24th, 2015, at 6:30 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 10th St. and Central Ave., Ocean
City.
Young women between the ages of 17 and 23 and at least in their senior year of high school may participate in
one or both of the pageants. The MCMC pageant is open only to girls of Cape May County and the MCR pageant is open
to all girls residing, working or going to school in New Jersey. Proof of this will be needed at orientation.
As a Miss America Preliminary, the winners will go on to compete in the next Miss New Jersey Pageant.
All awards will be given as scholarships and the amounts will be based on donations raised.
Competitions will be held in interview, swimsuit, talent (90 seconds only), evening wear and on-stage question.
Two essays are required: one 500 word about your community service and one 300 word about your platform
for which you are willing to work. The National Platform for Miss America is the Children's Miracle Network for which
you will need to register on line and raise $100. Further directions will be given with your complete packet and can be
found on the Miss NJ and Miss America website.
To receive that packet of information, please return the form below with a $10 non-refundable processing fee
as soon as possible (we always have a waiting list), before June 1st. The earlier the better! That completed packet will
be due back at orientation. YOU MUST RSVP for Orientation by JUNE 19th, 2015, or you forfeit your money and we take
the next person on the waiting list.
