several of these machines in stock as well. On a personal note, I’m winding down to the end
of my 39th year with BERNINA. In May of 1975, I
packed up my goods from attending OU and joined
my dad in “the family business”. I have to say I’m
enjoying it more as time goes on. Having Emily in the
business has been a big boost for me, as well as having the wonderful staff that we are blessed with now. I hope this year will be fun and entertaining for all of
us, and that you’ll join us when you can!

possible. Minimums must be met so that the teacher
may prepare for a class. Many times a class does not
make because you were waiting for others to sign up.
Full payment at time of registration is required for class
reservation. We will cancel a class if fewer than the
minimum are enrolled four days before the class. If we
must cancel a class, your money will be refunded in
full. If you must cancel, we must be notified at least four
days before the first class in order to refund your money.

This exciting event will be held at OESD’s facilities in
Edmond! You’ll get a chance to learn from embroidery experts, including Dawn Andrew, embroidery
specialist for OESD. Choose to attend one or both

Saturday’s class will consist of three lecture/demos.
In the first, you’ll learn the basics of quality embroidery, including stabilizer choices, needles, threads,
and hooping techniques. Next, you’ll see great ideas
for creative embroidery in a trunk show packed with
samples! Finally, you’ll see techniques for editing
embroidery designs with your embroidery software to
customize your designs. Lunch and goody bags are
included in the class fee.

QUILTING INFORMATION OVERLOAD
Join Ricky as he shares many of his secrets and
methods for fine heirloom quality machine quilting on
a domestic sewing machine. He’ll teach the techniques used in his award-winning quilts in a way that
leaves you amazed at how simple they are. His entertaining and informational program will give you the
confidence you need to machine quilt like the pros.
Filled with tips and tricks, even hand quilters will
find the information to be beneficial. Also included
are instructions on quilting design and innovative
marking techniques for both improvisational and preplanned quilting.
RHAPSODY QUILTS
In this information packed lecture/demo, learn the
design process Ricky used in his award winning
Bohemian Rhapsody and Fire Dragon Rhapsody
quilts to create your own individual and unique
quilt. Ricky will show you how to design an original
Rhapsody medallion while demonstrating some of
the techniques that have made his Rhapsody quilts
so memorable. You will leave with the confidence
and knowledge to begin your own “Rhapsody” but
the information on design and techniques will be
indispensible for other quilting projects too.
KOOL KALEIDOSCOPE/CONVERGENCE
QUILTING
This strata-based Kool Kaleidoscope quilt is a huge
“WOW”! The exciting result will look complicated
but the simple construction and dynamic visual
impact will appeal to both confident beginners and
advanced quilters. No two Kool Kaleidoscopes ever
turn out the same! In addition, Ricky will discuss
his ever-popular Convergence Quilts, an addictive
method for creating simple, easy, and fun quilts!

Ricky Tims has successfully blended two diverse passions into one very
unique and interesting career. His skills as a pianist, composer and producer
have been evident by the thousands who have heard his music. His success
as a quilter is equally significant.
He is known in the international world of quilting as a best-selling author, enthusiastic and encouraging teacher, an award-winning quilter, fabric designer,
and a talented and spellbinding speaker. His innovative and entertaining presentations, feature live music and humor combined with scholarly insights and
wisdom. His quilts have been displayed worldwide and are highly regarded as
excellent examples of contemporary quilts with traditional appeal.
Ricky has made quilts that have won numerous international awards. He
began designing and making quilts in 1991. In 2002 he was named as
one of The Thirty Most Distinguished Quilters in the World. In 2009 he was
selected (in a three-way tie) by the readers of Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine
as The Most Influential Person in the Quilting Industry. In 2008 he was profiled and featured on the popular television news show, CBS News Sunday
Morning with Charles Osgood.
