STAND FIRM AGAINST
THE ENEMY!
“…Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7)

We can divide the world in
which we live, into two:
a) the world that we see with
our physical eyes
b) the spiritual invisible
world that cannot be seen with our
physical eyes.
The people of this present
world get absorbed with the things
of the world, the incidents that
happen in this world, the false
happiness obtained due to the
growth in the world's economy and
all its attractions. As people reach
the peak of this temporary
happiness, they have no mind or
time to think about the invisible
spiritual world which is very
important and urgently needed.
The spiritual world consists
of our souls, spiritual life and
spiritual power. But today's
spiritual people do not have a clear
mind and they lead a life without
spiritual power. So in course of time
they will live a meaningless life
with just superficial views. God's
people with a vision to serve the
Lord, also fail to give more
importance to the spiritual life and
the spiritual world. This is because
the lust of the flesh, the lust of the
eyes and the pride of life dominate
them (I John 2:16).
The enemy that hinders
people in their spiritual life is the
devil. It is wrong to say that there is
no devil or his host spirits. We must
defeat this devil. In order to do so,
we must have a clear knowledge
about the devil and his headquarters
and his method of functioning. That
is why in Ephesians 6:12, we find
Apostle Paul saying that God's
children are involved in a great
wrestling war against the devil and
that we should be very careful to

Dearly beloved friends in Christ Jesus,
Greetings to you in the sweetest name of our LORD and Saviour
Jesus Christ. We are grateful to God for the wonderful ways He leads
us. We are thankful to our dear brothers and sisters who are upholding
us through prayers and support.
The Lord God is really blessing our ministries in this new year also.
The Lord blessed our All Night New Year Service conducted in our Main
Church area and the 7 hour continuous prayer for World Revival held at a
town, Sivakasi in South India. God sent mighty annointing from heaven and
blessed the people. Our One Hundred Prayer Warriors For World
Revival are doing a good job in coming to our Main Church once in a week
and pray for world revival. You may also send your prayer requests.
We are burdened heavily about the situation of God's people in India.
They are experiencing much hardship in practicing Christianity. Any kind
of difficulty may occur at any time against the peaceful daily life of the
children of God. We do not have any worldly power to support us; but we
have heavenly power and heavenly support only. So this is the time once
again for all Christians join together and come forward in one accord,
forgetting their denominational leanings and doctrinal diversities to pray for
protection and blessings in the country. We should come out from building
our own empires and start building the Kingdom of God. Let us all join
hands with each other to pray fervently and work sincerely so that the LORD
may send a marvellous outpouring of the Holy Spirit during these days in all
the countries of the world especially in the countries where preaching the
Gospel is difficult and banned.
As the family of Echo of His Call, we understand the value of time
and real situation and are enabled by the Spirit of God to do something for the
people of India during these days. We have strengthened our relationship

“Put on the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to
stand against the wiles of the
devil” (Ephesians 6:11).
It is true that the devil has
been defeated by Jesus Christ on
the cross. But it is also true that he
still causes evil to penetrate into the
lives of the peoples.
The Evils Caused by the
Devil to Mankind
1. The devil enters into the
people in the form of spirit and
make them lose their sense.
2. Having gone into them,
he deceives them by making them
walk on fire and inflicts wounds on
their bodies.
3. He enters into the hearts
and bodies of people and creates
unnecessary fears and boubts,
hatred towards life, pushing to
commit suicide, sleeplessness, zeal
to do wrong things, irritation, cruel
behavior, attitude of failure and
confusions in mind.
4. He touches people who

and doctrines introduces pride,
self-righteousness, love of money,
lust of the flesh in them so that they
are drowned in vanity!
According to the Word of
God, he is called as the
a) Tempter (Mathew 4:3,
1Thessalonians 3:5);
b) One who had the power
of death (Hebrews 2:14);
air (Ephesians 2:2);
d) Ruler of this world (John
12:31, John 14:30);
e) One who deceives the
whole world (Revelation 12:9);
f) The thief who steals the
peace and happiness of people;
g) Killer of people's
conscience;
h) Destroyer of the eternal
life of mankind (John 10:10);
I) Deceiver, who deceives
people by assuming the appearance
of holy angels.
Even the chosen people are
being deceived “And no wonder!
For satan himself transforms
himself into an angel of light” (II
Corinthians 11:14).
Once, a devil-possessed
man who was blind and dumb was
brought to Jesus. Jesus made him to
see and speak. The Pharisees who
heard about it commented that
Jesus chased the devils with the
help of Beelzebub, the ruler of the
demons. “But Jesus knew their
thoughts and said to them: Every
kingdom divided against itself is
brought to desolation, and every
city or house divided against

itself will not stand. and If satan
casts out satan, he is divided
against himself. How then will his
kingdom stand? (Matthew
12:25,26). The devil has an
organized administration. He was
many helping spirits, orderly
authorities and a well organized
kingdom and a head-quarters. His
Kingdom is still not broken and
thrown away.
THE CRAFTS OF THE
DEVIL
1. He makes people unable
to think of the spiritual secrets,
entangle them in several
complications, so that they have no
knowledge about heaven and live
as fools.
2. He makes sin very
attractive and so the chosen people
also get cheated and commit sin.
Such God's people become disobedience, the devil neglects them
and run away from the scene. Since
they have no support and they
suffer alone for ever.
3. He gives various
problems to people in their daily
life. As they have to struggle
everyday in such problems, the
devil makes them to ignore
holiness, eternal life in heaven and
the life of faith.
4. He also delays the
approved heavenly blessings to
come on the lives of God's people.
1. Through the Word
of God (Mathew 4:1-11)
God's thoughts are given to
us as the Word of God. With
complete faith in the Word of God,
not doubting it to any measure, we
must use it in our life. We must
listen to God's Words and
memorise them. Then the devil will
flee from our boundaries.
We must dedicate ourselves
to live according to the Word of
God. When we depend fully on
God's Word and obey wholeheartedly, divine power will
descend upon us automatically.
We must cause our hearts to
become the field in which God's
Word is sown. Without the
influence of the Holy Spirit all
human thoughts are in vain. We
must retract them and obey God's
Word. God's Word is the only
power which is able to break down
human's negative thoughts.
So, under any circumstance
let us not try to overcome God's
Word and His will to suit our
desires. Instead, we should commit
ourselves to be ruled by the Word of
God and God's will, and allow
ourselves to be fully controlled by
Him.
God's words should not be
twisted to be used according to our
circumstances. We should depend
totally upon the Word of God and
live according to them. We should
learn them and build our lives upon

them. When we read about the great
temptation of Jesus Christ in
Mathew 4:1-11, we find Jesus
overcoming the devil by quoting
the word of God saying, “It is
written”.
At least memories God's
promises. Confess those promises
through your mouth when you are
pressed with struggles or when you
pray. The devil will flee away from
you. Give importance to read your
Bible. Make it as a regular habit to
meditate upon the Word of God
every morning. Attend the Bible
study meetings at your church and
learn the Word of God right way.
Have a personal relationship with
your Pastor and take part in his
efforts in the expansion of God's
Kingdom. Make it a habit to discuss
about the truths of the Bible
whenever you meet with your
friends and fellow-believers.
2. Overcome the Devil
with the Faith you
have on God
Some people say that the
devil cannot attack or overcome or
use Christians. No, it is not true.
Due to the works of the devil, many
believers are filled with evil
characteristics. Today we see in our
churches and society, many
children of God struggling due to
the attack of the devil through their
thoughts, bad habits and wrong
doctrines. Is it not true that such
people lose all hope and get
completely disappointed by the
devil in a later stage?
If the devil cannot deceive
the Church and God's children, why
should Apostle Paul compare our
spiritual life to a battlefield and ask
us to put on the whole armor of
God, be watchful and be strong in
faith it fight against the devil?
(Ephesians 6:12-17).
It is nothing but the devil
and his spirits who work like
catalysts behind every spiritual
defeat that we see today in the
spiritual world. This is the reason
behind the failure of all God's
children. Those who once
committed themselves to be
zealous of fight for the Lord, have
also been caught by the devil and
they are now physically sick,
defeated, backsliders and also as
convicts in prisons!
Faith is a priceless gift, God
has given to His children. This is
the power to receive all good things
that the Lord has earned for us.
Faith is the stronghold through
which we can receive God's
victory. This is a divine gift that
leans only on God's mercy and
grace and not on human
intelligence.
The faith you have on God,
helps you to lead a watchful life
and later will provide full security
to your family and to your own
future. But the relationship you
have with the devil is like the
bacteria or virus you have in the air
around you or even in your own
body!
It is because you believe
that there are minute poisonous
germs around you, you are careful
in eating clean food; you keep your
clothes clean; you clean your
house. The immunity you have
saves you from the clutches of the
minute poisonous germs, bacteria
and viruses around you. The
immunity acts as a pesticide to such
germs.
If you have no knowledge
about such poisonous germs and if
you do not believe in their
poisonous germs and if you do not
believe in their poisonous nature,
you will not take bath daily; you
will not wash your clothes neatly;
you will not close your mouth when
you sleep or on other occasions;
you will not keep your food clean.
As the surgeons know very well
about the effect of such germs in
spreading diseases, they use a mask
to cover their nose and mouth while
at surgery. They also carefully wash
their hands and wipe them clean.
The devil and his spirits are
like the minute poisonous germs
that can't be seen with our naked
eyes. They roam around to swallow

the careless people.
“…your
adversary the devil walks about
like a roaring lion, seeking whom
he may devour” (I Peter 5:8).
So, be very careful in your
spiritual life. The Lord has clearly
shown us in Ephesians 6:1-17 about
a careful way of life.
Hold on to the shield of
faith always, confess your
relationship with God in faith.
When you act every minute not
forgetting that you are a child of
God, the devil will run away from
you.
3. Overcome the Devil
in the Name of
Jesus Christ
“And these signs will
follow those who believe: in My
name they will cast out demons;
they will speak with new tongues;
they will take up serpents; and if
they drink anything deadly, it
will by no means hurt them; they
will lay hands on the sick, and
they will recover” (Mark
16:17,18). “…For this prupose
the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works
of the devil” (I John 3:8).
“And that repentance and
remission of sins should be
preached is His name to all
nations, beginning at
Jerusalem…” (Luke 24:47-48).
“Nor is there salvation in
any other, for there is no other
name under heaven given among
men by which we must be saved”
(Acts 4:12)
“For whoever calls upon
the name of the Lord shall be
saved” (Romans 10:13)
The power in the name of
the Lord is revealed in the above
verses. So, in then name of Jesus,
when we lay our hands on the devilpossessed people, the devil flee

away. The devil will not flee away
on hearing any other name.
So, when you suffer and
face problems, chase away the
devil taking the authority in the
name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. Overcome the devil
with the blood of Jesus
Christ and the Word
of Testimony (Revelation
12:11).
“And they overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb and by
the word of their testimony, and
they did not love their lives to the
death” (Revelation 12:11). The
devil will run away when he hears
the name of Jesus Christ is uttered.
Jesus Christ the son of God shed
His own blood and gave His life on
the cross at Calvary to destroy the
works of the devil.
As a result of the sinful life,
people have been affected very
badly by the devil to the extent that
no one can deliver them. Because of
the abudance of sins, they are not
able to overcome the devil. The
devil takes advantage of this
situation and causes more and more
problems to such people. He has
turned the present life on this earth
into a sorrowful one and so they can
never be happy.
In order to redeem the
people from the clutches of satan,
God sent His only Son to the world:
“For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have
everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Jesus was sent to the earth to shed
His innocent blood. Thus the holy
blood shed by the Son of God alone
has the power to redeem the people

from the power of the devil.
Since Jesus Christ shed His
blood and offered Himself as the
sacrifice to remove the sins of the
world, we should believe and have
faith on the power of the blood of
Jesus. The deliverance we get
through this faith must be
proclaimed to others as a testimony.
Then, surely, the bondage of the
devil will be broken.
During difficult days, we
should confess with our mouth
saying, “There is victory in the
blood of Jesus Christ”. Having

confessed thus, if we lead a life of
testimony, the devil will flee away
from us.
We should know the crafty
ways of the devil to chase him
away. We, the children of God must
stand firm and be organised against
our enemy, the devil. To overcome
the devil, here are certain things we
are expected to do:
1. Speak the Word of God
against the devil.
2. Through faith in God, the
cunning crafts on the devil can be
broken.

3. Use the name of Jesus
Christ, who bruised the head of the
devil on the cross.
4. Confess the power of the
blood of Jesus Christ and proclaim
the word of your testimony.
If we thus overcome the
devil, we shall surely be included in
the list of those who are victorious
in the Kingdom of God.
Let us stand firm and be
organized against the devil! Let
us be victorious!!

“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons.
Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).
Recently, a staunch nonchristian young man came to me
and said his mother of about 40
years old was suffering from a
severe illness for a long time and all
the spiritual and medical efforts
taken for her had ended in vain. He
added that she was forsaken by the
Medical fraternity as the medicines
and surgeries so far administered to
her went in vain. They had no more
money to spend also. But the
suffering of the women was
increasing day by day. The young
man begged me to go to the hospital
with him and pray for his mother.
Even though I was too busy
in my preaching assignments, I
found
time and went to the
hospital. Since she was in a critical
condition, I was not allowed to go
inside the ward and so I told her
relatives that I would pray from my
Church. But the members of the
family did not allow me to leave the
place and started crying like a child
and compelled me to pray to the
LORD Jesus Christ there itself to
have mercy upon them for a special
healing touch of the Heavenly
Father.
Finally, I obeyed them and
called all of them in a place and
gained courage from the Lord and
shared with them what the Lord
Jesus Christ can do in human life in
times of troubles, problems and
dangers. We prayed together for
the healing of the woman. Soon on
finishing our prayer and opened our
eyes, I saw a man coming towards
us with his medical assistants. He
came near me and shook my hands
and remembered the healing which
his son received from a peculiar
disease through my prayers about
fifteen years ago and asked me why
I was standing with a crowd.
I explained the immediate
need of the woman who was
suffering for her life. He replied,
“Brother Sam, I am the Chief
Doctor for this Department. Your
patient is also under the care of my
assistants. I will go now personally
and do the needful and see that
proper treatments are given for her
immediate recovery.
He also
requested me to leave the place
with confidence.
Then the family members
came to me after a few days with a
good news that a successful surgery
was conducted on her and further
treatment offered to her and she was
healed. God heard our prayer and
sent the right person to give her the
required treatment.
They are
faithful and thankful for the
blessing they have received in the
name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ.
Dear reader, the same God
is still available for you. Commit
your ways to Him and acknowledge
Him as your God and Saviour. He
will not leave you comfortless and
He will certainly come to you and
take care of you.(John 14:18) God
